  • In this video, we cover how to do a site to site VPN between SonicWall and another brand of firewall. In that case, we are doing it with a WatchGuard firewall. Many of the explanations here would apply doing a VPN with other brand of firewalls.

Very good videos Jean-Pier, please continue with other videos... I have a suggestion... how to create a VPN site-2-site with LAN IP Address Summarized. Example SITE--A has 3 LANs Class-C and the other site has 2 Class-C ... Did u get it. Anyway, very clear and simple the way you teach. Good Job.

      Thanks for the feedback.
Yes you can do route summarization and use a /16 for instance. If you use standard site to site vpn, you cannot du address summarization if subnet overlap. Like doing a vpn between 192.168.10.0/24 192.168.0.0/16. If you want to do that, do vpn tunnel interface (I did a video on that)
In smaller environnement, I don’t see a real need for route summarization. You can just create an address group that contains the 3-4 subnets and route between sites. Like I showed here: th-cam.com/video/2YB5WXKQaUI/w-d-xo.html

It would be great if you could provide a video of creating a VPN from a Sonicwall to a Google Cloud Network using BGP Advance Routing. I having problems understanding the BGP handshaking between the 2 different networks. Thanks!

    Hello Jean
You think there is a way to recover the password of a SonicWall NSA 220 without a factory reset ?
The prior installer didn't give this information.
    Thank you in advance.

      Hi.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending who you ask) there are no backdoor to bypass authentication and get the config. Especially on old unit like that.
New unit can backup their config in mysonicwall. So you could factory reset the unit and restore its config from mysonicwall.com (if you have access to that…)

Hello Jean, i have been following your guide on setting up my sonicwall. I have a quick question, is there anyway i can reach you via email. I have a L3 cisco switch connected to sonicwall NSa 5600. I have 4 different subnets on that cisco switch and I created physical interfaces on the NS 5600 for those 4 networks. I want each of the network to get to the sonicwall using their respective interfaces. But the switch is forwarding everything to X0 which is then dropped by the firewall as spoof. The firewall only allows the traffic for X0 to come through and drops everything else as spoof. How can i fix this issue please. Thank you.
