In the beginning it can be a bit confusing and frustrating. Staying on top your rep and having a good rep is key.
I thank you for watching my video. I really hope it works out well for you! If there is any questions you have that I may be able to answer, please feel free to ask.

Do you prefer using a lift chair so you don't have to get in and out of a chair so you don't have pulling on your stitches?

Hi there my name is Belinda i was listening to you talk about getting the SCS i just got mine put in my back last Monday. Iam very sore i can handle that. I just wanted to say i would recommend this to any one that is in servere constant pain. It is amazing how it has helped my servere constant back pain from spinal stenosis servere was my problem. It has sure changed my life for the better. I just want to say me and you have been blessed.

Hi Belinda. So sorry for my slow reply. I have had a new addition to my family (1st grand baby) and a slew of other stuff came up and I have not been able to get to comments or make any new content. My humblest of apologies.
I am awful glad to hear how much it is changing your life already. IT sure did mine. I never got any relief from mechanical pain but I sure did from all the nerve pain. I guess it is a world of give and take. :-) I agree, we are blessed for sure!
Here's to your healthy healing and many more years of enjoying the stimulators benefits!

Thank you so much for what you do for the pain stimulator info. I'm thinking about getting it, my doctor gave me the information on the Boston scientific SCS

Hi Raymond. It is my pleasure to fo it. It was a young lady on TH-cam that made one of these videos that saved my life. If not for her video, 99% chance I wouldn't be here today. Life just was that bad. I swore I wouldn't let it get that bad again and no matter if I got 3 views or 5 million I would continue the videos.
I have been a little slow lately. I'm technically challenged as well as budget challenged but I still give it a try when able. :-)
Gather all the info you can good and bad and weigh your options. I have a buddy that goes by Joseph of Borg and his famous quote is, " If your fear out weighs your pain, your not ready yet". Tbis thing is truly a blessing when it works. A well informed patient tends to get the best care in the long run. If you need any further info, pleae don't hesitste to reach back out to me. I'll help i any way I can.
I wish you all the best! I'll be sending out all the happy vibes for you that I can!
      Take care and be safe!

Just been looking through your videos as I'm going in on the 10th for the SCS implant.
My pain control was nil also and was placed on huge amounts of Fentanyl etc etc etc,
Came off them all (opiates) in December and due to my complete drop and recovery of withdrawal they called me forward 10-12 months.
Mine is a lower spinal injury from an explosion in Iraq and had me bed bound for 8 years...
    It's a living hell, I get you.
    I'm anxious but nervously excited.
I'm fortunately getting the Boston implant straight away and those controls are big bulky things too!
Thanks for giving me comfort and hope for my onward life journey.
Your looking great compared to the first videos my friend.
If it's ok I'll update you. Fortunately with the NHS costs are not an issue here in the UK, universally available high quality health care should be available for all.
    Take care
    Charlie 🇬🇧

Sorry it took so long to reply. I had a little issue preventing me from YouTubing much this last month or 2 or 5. Curious how things are going with you. All is well on the stimulator front?

Second day for my SCS , I am in much pain from the surgery. So I can not judge if is working or not. I have a lot of pain in my legs now. I am on pain meds but they do not help. Oxycotin. WE will see. I pray to God for relief from the pain. Wayne

How long did it take you before you were able to return to work?
How long before you were able to do things you weren't able to do before the surgery?

Actually, long story short, my other videos in the series tell my entire story but Ill do the quick version here for you. It's all good. :-)
I was off work for a number of years and all but bed ridden prior to my scs surgery. The scs surgery was only done to relieve the nerve pain. I still needed complete reconstructive surgery on my spine.
Once SCS was installed I was up and moving but it was a bit to much for my crumbling spine to take and a few short months later went in for lumbar fusion number 1. To this very day I am still off work and probably always will be EXCEPT, I will not have the agonizing and torturing every day nerve pain that comes with sciatica (Lumbago).
So long story just a sentence longer, scs for me basically was 95% theraputic and 5% mental.
If I ever do work again I will be a yes man in a 1 way street in a office full of drama of which I personally can not stand working with people. I am a construction worker through and through .

Thanks for sharing its very helpful. Your weight loss and increased activity, I see as your greatest help. Did or do you have osteoarthritis or arthritis ? That is a pain of a different kind. I've realized I've only been treated for nerve damage pain. With pills for pain I was still in pain. So I upped my calcium, vitamin D, Alpha Lipoic Acid and walked more. The joint pain all over my body subsided in about 3 days!!!! We have to investigate how deficiency of nutrients dries out the bones and joints. Omega 3 is vital in very high doses for the bone disease. I hope you will treat yourself to some nutrients for even more relief.. I can't do this stimulator. The doctors here are so disconnected and uncaring. Like you said you have to do the research and speak up to your caregivers and doctors. Peace.

You mentioned no bending, lifting or twisting. Is this only whilst you are healing or is this something that you can't do ever?

    • @DjPorkchop73
      @DjPorkchop73  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi Jamie, So sorry for no reply. Somehow I missed this one. No BLT's as they call it is only while you are recovering. That is so the leads or paddles that get implanted have time to "Scar In".

Is it normal to bleed a little constantly from the leads orifice?, im on day 3 but my surgeon implanted a paddle

    • @DjPorkchop73
      @DjPorkchop73  5 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not real sure to be honest if some bleeding is normal or not. I had loads implanted and my dressing was not removed for 2 weeks.
I really wish I had a good answer for you. Sorry. :-(
