There’s no card pre loaded into the envelope. Most ppl miss that the queen of spades is on the table until the last second then it becomes blank. Then it’s in the envelope. I won’t get into the method. Shin is a genius

It’s fun as a magician watching ppl react to Shin Lim. You guys are the first to try and deconstruct it, and as a magician we know that ppl like you are in the audience (just not the majority). Every magician has stuff thrown in that makes the most pragmatic ppl baffled. I own Dream and 52 Shades of Red v3 and have had Shin Lim tutorials since he was on theory 11. He’s a genius.

Also, I want to say that those were some good guesses that u guys were making, despite the fact that most of them were wrong(the card in envelope isn't done like that and also some other stuff that u said) but I love the passion that u guys have about trying to figure out his tricks.👍👍👍
Right on! I've respected the heck out of magicians since I was in elementary school and we had an awesome local magician come do shows at the school for us about once a year. Always loved trying to figure out ways they could have done tricks because it's like a puzzle to me, and I love puzzles. On second watch I did see him slide the envelope past his hand that he was holding the deck in. Could that have something to do with it? - Nic
@@Vasarcdus Well done Vasarcdus. That part u have gotten right. I don't want to give too much away but he had the signed card on top of the deck and the envelope has 2 holes at the back from which he can slide her card into the envelope. Props man👍👍👍😁😁😁
Chris Ramsay has a nice vlog on how certain audiences (i.e. “engineers”) enjoy magic tricks by trying to figure it out, and how that’s not a bad thing for magicians. Really resonated with me, an engineer and magic enthusiast :)
Baba Jani He sells his ambitious card routine? He sells Dream and 52 shades of red as acts. Gone deck, kadabra (when it’s in stock), but not this. You could construct an act like this if you’re as seemless as him with products already in the magic community. Phantom deck, Omni deck, Pandrea’s nocs (red nocs I think) are the red cards and you could construct the envelope. It’s how seemless and on point the HARD moves are to pull off to music in front of 3400 ppl and America. He’s incredible
I like hearing that you tried to slow his performance down because what anyone finds is that... it’s just magic regardless of how much you slow it he’s that good 😆
Magician here. Shin Lim is phenomenal, a world-cass talent, but not actually the greatest card magician. He is the best at his unique and dramatic fusion of stage illusionism and close-up card magic, no doubt. I can't think of anyone who can touch him in that regard, he's on his own island. I could give you a whole long list of incredible card mechanics, magicians and sleight-of-hand artists, but I'd definitely recommend Dani Daortiz to start with, possibly the only magician ever to win a Fooler trophy despite not having even been invited on the show. 😂 He was apparently part of the production crew, and got dragged onstage by Penn & Teller on a last-minute whim. What's special about Dani? Improvisation. This is not a man who needs to rehearse, he does what some of us call "jazz magic", just making half of it up as he goes along, freestyle. That's why P&T got him up there without the usual notice. Enjoy!
I personally, as an engineer and magic enthusiast, say, “Screw the haters!” I love it when you guys analyze magic tricks! Kinda hope Ben can be in on the next magic reaction (being the scientist that he is!)
First time i watched it my jaw just dropped, but there were 1 time were he mest up abit. Ofc you are gonna figure out a few tricks if you watch it over and over, but if u saw it done once infront of u in real life then no way i would have seen it.
the girl was a letdown, close to 4:00 when its zooming away you can see the top of a suspiciously blank card looking item in her hand, after it was supposedly transformed not to mention her blatant attempts to hide the palm of her hand and the overreactions she gives
