I cannot believe already 4 years has passed since I first time watched this video. I'm not exactly fulfilled my plans, but made some good progress on my goals.. completely changed a few plans as well. For sure I could go back to my "5 years plan" a little bit more often
This is so relevant to me right now! I'm doing behavior therapy and I recently learned that the only thing capable of overcoming threat is your willingness to try something. If I think about every threat I've ever faced, it was willfulness (saying "no", avoiding contact, pushing people away, fear of pain) that caused me pain and willingness (to ask friends for help, ask for that raise, etc) that solved problems and gave me relief. The key is to recognize willfulness, accept it (but DON'T JUDGE yourself), and choose to turn the mind into willingness.
Love the computer analogy. Always taught my daughter that mistakes were good things. Wish I had used the fear factor the way you described. Good food for thought. Thanks
It doesn’t seem two minutes ago you were changing a Bosch charger for a Tesla unit on your garage. You have come a long way in Less than 5 years. Well done Zac ...and the team.
If you give a man a fish, then you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, then you feed him for a lifetime. A certain percentage of those you teach to fish will be forever grateful and willing to help you and those who you care about. Success is chance, which the more you take chances the higher your probability of success. If those you teach to fish become successful and eternally grateful to you, then expect enough of them to reward you accordingly and indefinitely.
Thank you for this. I often allow fear to influence my decisions in a bad way. I am an introverted person, which has made me avoid things like sticking with music (I play trombone). I am in my 50s now and finally pushed myself to join a local concert band. I am really enjoying it. I have a number of things I want to accomplish, and this sort of information will help me to keep on track. Thanks for all that you do. I am also going to become a patron. I have debated adding you to the TH-camrs that I support, but you just struck a chord with me that I cannot ignore. Thank you.
This Video is amazingly edited and very good written. It is very Inspiering. I am a Student and have one half year left before I finnish school and I ahd a Down because I applied at Tesla Grohmann Automation and I didn't get taken but this seriously inspired me put now a lot more Effort into learning to get better grades and hopefully get taken when I reapply. Thanks a lot Zac and Jesse for your great Videos
Tobias, Elon wants exceptional thinkers for a reason, not best grades... apply "First Principle Thinking", just like Elon has done all his life! You'll get a job!
Thank you for the reminder and describing the steps. Imagination! Self image! Both are way up high on the top of the happy success mountain. Practice daily.
Most relevant NYK video I've watched in the past year. Thank you so much. It goes in line with Jack Canfield success principles! 1-Decide what you want. 2- Do it.
Thank you. You've given this 68 yo man something to think about and act on. I guess it's never too late to change how you think about yourself and the world you live in.
Thanks for this Zac. I was just thinking I need a plan as I feel I'm stagnating. I always crush my visions immediately with the thought "no that's ridiculous" as if I'll be harmed by thinking freely. But you are right, there's no harm in it. I'm going to give myself permission to dream freely and see what happens. Cheers
Mind blow! It explains what steps I've been missing in my empathy lectures. I love learning new things about psychology, and thinking of our brain as computers that run on imagination (our javascript) to problem solve and set goals... perfect. Thank you Zack!
"Everything is energy and that's all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."
Thank you Zac and team! Excellent video and really illustrates how to become personally successful in life and something I've practiced most of my life.
Great video guys. I’m so happy to see you walk the walk and put this out there. Looking forward to more episodes. I hope it helps many more people as it helps me get the inspiration needed to move forward.
Thanks Zac, I consider my self fairly successful but never knew to much of why. I did know I have a great imagination and fear doesn't usually bother me. great video! Looking forward to the rest.
Thank you very much for filming this video. Not many people know about this but it actually works. The brain pings you are talking about are actually positive emotions created by your opened mind. If you follow these positive emotions and explore them by imagining in more detail they will lead you to prosperity and happy life. Awesome job guys.
Wonderful... seriously needed this zac. Thank you. It’s too easy to let your consciousness be lazy. Scrolling through Facebook or watching tv. It’s time to really think and put our computer to work
Zac, great video. Thank you. In decades past I used a daytimer and since the 80s have regularly used mind maps and tools like Workflowy to organize various list and there's no doubt this can help move one along. However, I had an interesting conversation after watching your video with my girlfriend and her mom (who's in her seventies), but before I get into that let me make a personal observation. I've long used list to organize and move forward but I go through long(ish) periods where things are in stasis and I don't update the lists. Usually this is because the lists have helped me "plan a move/project/goal" but now I'm working through it. During those "periods of construction" it's the act of just doing the work that gets the thing done. In other words, while this is a bit orthogonal to your point, there are times for imagining and times for doing. That's not to say that in the middle of a project I don't get stuck and have to constantly re-imaging things, just that there are times you put your head down and move forward with the work. Back to my girlfriend's mom. When we started talking about "where she sees herself in 5 years" she said, "Well, I really like what I do now. I've spent years figuring that out. In five years I'd like to be doing what I am now with little decline in my abilities." That was a bit of a shocking reminder about a universal truth. Sometimes winning is staying in place. Feeding your family, paying your bills, maintaining your health. I get it and I agree with everything you said. But I need to caution myself that one persons dream of the future can be very different from another's, especially as we age or go through other physical and emotional challenges. A few years ago when one of my best friends, Peter McKay, died I knew I was going to be compromised and just gave myself permission to not focus as much on future projects. I let myself grieve and pass on a few things, knowing that time can help heal - and it did. I love where you took things and think you offered us one of the clearest explanation possible for the power of vision and planning. I just hope I can remember that those things are relative and personal. Thank you.
WOW!! I've been following your TH-cam journey since almost the beginning. You keep getting better at it. But this time, you raised the bar to a new level.Top notch, both in format and content. Great job Zac!
One of the best motivational videos online! Thanks! And funny enough, it is logical! What you actually are doing is start "First Principle Thinking"...
Well done. We do seem to get caught in the loop of not doing things because we don't even try. It reminds me of the concerns that I have had with making everything safe for those being hurt. How about exposing people to unsafe things with the goal to develop their abilities to survive the events? People being bullied need to know that they can survive by making choices outside the bullying focus point. Truly, we can change what is happening to us by changing how we perceive it. Thanks. Excellent spring board to growth.
Thanks, one of your best video so far FEAR. This time I have work on for the last 10 years and even when people tell me that I should give up on my dream. No I say I am in control of my furture. Yes there have been many bumb a lot the way and I haven’t got there yet but getting there. Thanks Z.J
Thank you for the video, Zac. Please put Part 2 video as an End Card to this video. I know it's in the description, but you'll get way more viewers of it if you make it easy for new viewers to see (using end cards).
Excellent video, Zach. I have found that when one makes the commitment to pursue a goal, lots of good things begin to happen. Here is a quote from William H. Murray that sums up the principle of making a commitment: “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: That the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves, too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.”
I cannot believe already 4 years has passed since I first time watched this video. I'm not exactly fulfilled my plans, but made some good progress on my goals.. completely changed a few plans as well. For sure I could go back to my "5 years plan" a little bit more often
This video should have 10 million views
This is my favourite video of you yet.
I must review it several times in the future. Thanks!
How'd it go?

Some plans worked, but not everything . Time to replan. Yourself? Did you try it?
Yeah about the same
Great video Zac! Someone once told me, "Courage is not the lack of fear, it's action in spite of fear."

You have no idea how much I needed this 🙏🏼
me too :) I feel much better and motivated
I like this content. Zac start a new channel how to develop our mind. Now We Know Our Mind.
Indeed. This video is great but it does not match the channel's topic, like that thing about eating no meat. Better diversify into 3 channels
"schools should be safe places to fail on the journey to learn" Its true, they should be. Looking forward to the next episode!
Love the computer analogy. Always taught my daughter that mistakes were good things. Wish I had used the fear factor the way you described. Good food for thought. Thanks
Zac - You had me at "Inside your head" :-)
Mindwalk should be a dedicated feature on Now You Know - if not its own channel.
Thank you for sharing.
You wouldn't believe how timely and appropriate this video is for me. I'll be re-watching this several times. Thank you Now You Know.
This was really good. Looking fwd to next episodes
It doesn’t seem two minutes ago you were changing a Bosch charger for a Tesla unit on your garage. You have come a long way in Less than 5 years. Well done Zac ...and the team.
I predict a huge gain in subscribers to this channel.
