Lord John Grey is - and will always be - the perfect gentleman. This is not saying he's the perfect individual, but ever since he first stepped into the world of Outlander at Prestonpans, and then his later history with Jamie, he has become one of my absolute favorite characters in this entire series (Book especially). I highly recommend anyone who hasn't to go read the Lord John novels Diana wrote ... get the FULL character of the man :-)
And a big chunk of The Scottish Prisoner. It's about some of what happened to Jamie while Claire was gone, but it's just as much about John and their relationship.

Lmao! I'm sorry, I have to disagree! How is Lord John NOT a perfect person?! The man he loves offered himself to him... The extremely attractive man he loves, offered himself to him and he said no becoz of his principles. He's wanted his for years. He'll want him til the day he dies. And he still said no. Please tell me where his faults are! I can't find them!
Lord John Grey is always so calm, even when he is pissed and is being threatened with blackmail he is remains reasonable. I'm almost done season 5 then I'll start reading the books, I need to see this whole outlander tale through to the very end.

Always been in love with Lord John Grey and David berry. I probably love him more than Jaime. The love he has for Jaime is so beautiful.
Its just so sad that he never gets a love story of his own. I mean some day he must be over Jamie and even if not, it's unnatural to remain ascetic for so long, if you're not asexual. It's a low excuse to not explore his homosexual side, even given the circumstances of the time.
She was almost being a stepmother to her own brother. 😅
He's such a wonderful, kind, hot character. There are additional books written on the adventures of Lord John.

Yes, I don't know why they cast Ms. Skelton. Brianna was a Valkyrie, a big girl with a feminine version of her father's Viking physique. When she was about 12 and growing out of everything Frank had asked Claire, "Fraser, he was a big chap?" It was nearly the only time he ever asked anything about him.
I feel like the actress who plays her bears an uncanny resemblance to Jamie's actor, though. I honestly think they look like they're actually related. I feel like height is relatively unimportant in comparison.
@@mwyz Well, unimportant in the long run, but it was a point of interest in the books. She was beautiful, but a BIG girl and intimidated a lot of people. Especially when she most usually insisted on wearing trousers and carried a weapon after the Bonnet ordeal. I wanted her to have the Jamie swagger, not be a compliant "woman".

I would have liked to have seen it only to see the mess they would have made. Jamie would kill John if he married her, especially knowing it was him he wanted.

@@Bklyngurl85 You kidding me? She doesn't look at all like the book version of the character. Brianna is supposed to be a big, physically tall and intimidating woman. A Viking woman. They cast a small, very slim actress with no physical presence, clearly for her stereotypically "pretty" face and not her acting ability. They could not have miscast the character more. And she does not look like either of the cast members. She isn't even a natural redhead, which is pretty obvious.

Imagine if they had twin daughters and one married Lord John! Drama! He couldn't marry her also because she doesn't have known social status, was not presented at court. Jamie isn't respected by Britain as Lord/Laird except in France. As France & England were enemies there'd have to be a strategic reason for the match. He had already calculated these things soon as he heard about her. Having Jamie around as Father In Law, looking like his son and then one trip to Boston and jig is up! I have ancestry with these groups on both sides (Yes as Black as I am) and so this hits different. I could go deeply into the Royal family and tell you why they pushed Megan Merkle, their motivations and why it was a well designed nightmare but too many cannot handle this reality. Ignored in general, be it here or overseas our storylines are not for the fainthearted and I will give it to you straight no chaser. So much in these analysis videos are missed!
Series is well presented, but chiiiile, if you wanted to, you could make Bridgerton a joke, but, it would be a specific audience.

Brianna is my least favorite character
For real! I just wish they made her have a better personality and someone full of life. But maybe they wanted to show she took after her British dad Frank. Also I wish she was closer with her dad Jamie . I mean I never felt she really loves and adores Jamie. I know Frank raised her but Jamie and her they hardly have a lot of scenes together after season 4 that are meaningful . And her and Roger are boring! He’s boring. Claire and Jamie had this amazing passion love and poor Bri gets scholarly Roger 🤦♀️sorry for my ramble I just can’t understand the writer at all she’s nuts

@@TheFantasylover96 I know but its a disgrace! This series has a huge following, and Starz doesn't give the series any money in my opinion. If the ratings are threw the roof, which they have been since the start. Why would you only make 10 episodes a year? Or every 2 years(Drought lander). Right now there not filming, because allot of workers on the Outlander set in Scotland are on Strike.They also had a full year to film season 6 before Covid hit. Instead they wasted that time like usual. Now we will be lucky if we get to see Outlander by next March. If that's the case, that's a 2 year hiatus! So sad!
@@mikestevenson2303 yeah I get that, waiting a long time for a new season but if Sherlock taught me anything is that the extra time spent working on a project usually brings in better results. Filming is an art that takes time, money, cooperation, and patience. If you rush it then you get a show that’s all over the place with its tone and writing. I haven’t seen the show yet, but I’ve read the first book and I intend to watch it and join the hype. This show is way too popular for it to suddenly get dropped by company disputes. If it does, I’m sure everyone will petition for someone else to pick it up and keep it going like with what happened to shows like Lucifer. Keep your chin up, it will all work out like it’s supposed to.

The book version was better. Brianna offered to bear him a child and they did agree to get engaged to keep the other suitors off her back. Shame they didn't keep Lord John a blond and frankly, this guy isn't good looking enough to be Lord John.
I and many others would highly disagree with that last statement.. but that's your opinion. 😁 It would be interesting to have seen the short blonde version of LJG they had in the books though..

Yeah, sorry, 😁 David Berry needed to have Brad Pitt looks or better to be as good looking as Gabaldon describes him in her books. Thick blond hair, and short. Yes, it would have been more interesting had he been short as described in the books, but this being Hollywood, men are tall and women are shorter than men. Therefore TV Brianna doesn't look like the linebacker that she is in the novels and TV Lord John is more manly and tall but not as striking or good looking as TV Jamie.

This show is such a bastardization of the books. Its obvious that no one commenting has gone through the work of actually READING the books. So sad that we have descended into demanding Cliff-Notes instead of actually reading and interoperating on our own. smh
Newsflash: THIS IS NOT A BOOK!!! They are separate entities and the TV show is not beholden to be faithful to the books. I have read the books and in some ways I think the TV show is an improvement.

Adaptations are ADAPTATIONS. If you can't accept that then don't watch. But, I'm sick to death of people talking about how the book was better and this is coming from an avid reader. The book and the tv/movie are DIFFERENT, sure one might be better than the other, but the book isn't by default better.
Man, I think you need to go and read something about what adaptation's are. Start with Theory of Adaptation by Linda.
