I discovered the humble and highly likable man behind the actor in this show back then. So just wanted to come back to pay my respect, may you rest in peace sir.
Chadwick is a smart man. Very eloquent the way he expresses his thoughts. And I just have to say I love how Hugh was like drinking in what Chadwick was saying. 😀
I love that Mahershala was there to piggyback off Chadwick’s comments about Black Americans and identity. I love when we, collectively-with everyone at the table, start to dig into race, ethnicity, nationality, and cultural identities. Thanks for the content! ❤️
1:58 “sometimes, as African Americans, we have the black version and it’s never as good. And they never put as much effort in it.” THIS is why Black Panther as a movie was as hyped as it was
Travis Houze I only learned the term “afrofuturism” earlier this year and I think the reason popular culture took so long to realise the stories that depict such a vision is because our economics have a pro-status quo bias - which in turn translates to maintaining a racist (and patriarchal) bias.
We're not African Americans we're not from Africa that's just more lies. We're Hebrew the real Jews. We got ran back in to Africa and taking into slavery and Africans sold us to people all over the world.
Dr.Cinemaniac70 I didn't say that white or other races don't work hard. But blacks have to work extra hard just to get our foot in the door. You know it's true.
Agree with you fully my man, but I feel like it is to be mentioned that other actors also have to work hard to be where they are today. Whether or is harder for black people cannot be generalized. It may be harder for some bit easier for others. Having said that most African American actors do say that the struggle for them is substantially more.
I was first introduced to Chadwick from this roundtable. I’d never seen MCU films but his dignity & grace struck me forcefully. Haunting to come back & watch, knowing it was already 2-3 years after his cancer diagnosis.
Very first time I saw him on video and he inspired me right away. His eloquence, his perspective on life, his motivation... we lost too good a man today. Rest In Peace, Chadwick.
More or less every person sitting around that table, comes across as a pleasant, decent human being. I love that. Hollywood definitely needs more of that. Looking forward to seeing this Roundtable "episode" in full.
I always love hearing Chadwick talk. I loved Black Panther and am extremely happy not only for him and the cast, but for the impact and conversations the movie was able to bring.
I think the MCU as a studio did the right thing... they stepped back and let black people tell a black story from a black perspective. Even in promoting the show, Kevin Feige stayed in the background and let the writers, director and actors shine. Black Panther was good for the studio, but it was also good for all the people associated with it on a human level. I like the message that they are continuing to relate and take to their other projects. I like how they work together and are creating opportunities for themselves and for others.
How great this is, gathering the artists, actually philosophers together, having a conversation about Humanity and the the wisdom from real life experiences !!!!

Really nice conversation with Chadwick Boseman there. He was in his prime. He seemed so at ease with himself in that interview and yet he was fighting inner demons and persevering. RIP Chadwick. You'll be remembered for a long time for being both a Marvel and Real hero
Man, what a table: Wolverine, Black Panther, Aragorn, and a future Paul Atreides (Richard E. Grant and Mahershala Ali are great actors too who always knock it out of the park). Not only that, the subject being discussed is pretty serious and thoughtful, and they're all hanging on his every word. Absolutely fantastic to see.
Perhaps Mahershala could make an appearance in Black Panther 2 as Blade. If MBJ can swap jonny storm for Killmonger, Mahershala can swap cottonmouth for Blade.
I’m always delighted to see this man. Im overjoyed for his much deserved success and I hope he continues to have all the joy and happiness his heart and hands and hold. His parents and ancestors did a wonderful job 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I am so appreciative to artists who use their platform responsibly although I know it’s not something everyone will do nor can we expect them to. It’s also nice to be reminded the stars we love are indeed people. I’m cackled when he said ‘you supported me? When I was broke?’ Lol. Chad is the best.
