That hood is everything! 1. Gorgeous Creamsicle orange color - great to see you working with color. 2. Appreciate the accessory knitting a lot. As a mostly accessory knitter, I love these projects. 3. I also appreciate seeing you work with premium materials and with hand dyed yarns. Will be interesting to see how often you reacn for this hood!

I like the blue yarn for your dad's sweater, and I agree about the pieced design. For large sweaters knit in the round I find the weight and bulk means I spend a lot of time wrestling instead of knitting. Pieced projects are easier to work on and more portable, and I LOVE zipping up mattress stitched seams. Merry Christmas, thanks for a fun year of content!

Colorwork is my #yesIcan for 2025. I have been knitting for a long time and never ventured beyond mosaic knitting! But I am feeling ready, and I think I’ll try it in a summer garment, the Misurina t-shirt has a pretty floral design around the yoke.
And what I’d like to see more of on your channel is the way you go about planning a garment. You really have some 3D design skills to find a thrifted yarn and plan a beautiful sweater based on a pattern for a very diffferent yarn! And your knits always turn out so stylish! Please tell us more! 🌟

As far as round stitch markers, I use Boye jumbo stitch markers. They are flexible plastic and open and close. And for making a pattern from a book, I would just make a copy so you can write on it. I like to do that even for booklets because if I carry it around with me it just gets worn out. I'm very excited for the Granada with the crochet sleeves and the Saven sweater for your dad.

That looks like such a nice sweater for your dad. My dad is knit worthy too ☺ He asked for a cardigan, and I'm knitting it for him now. I love your hood. I'd love to make something like that for myself. I would probably try to incorporate a proper scarf into it too. Happy Christmas to you and your family, and little Osi, of course, from me and my Elsie ❤

I think the adjustments you made with the knits and purls on the side will probably end up being more flattering to your shape then big, bulky cables. It will come in around your waist. Good call! Can't wait to see it finished.

Hi Nora, I’ve been knitting about as long as you have and I’m nowhere near at your level. You’re so good at reading patterns and being able to “hack” them to suit your needs (like the sweater for your sister). Kudos to you!

On your other two questions. I have knit from books a lot. I tend to copy the pattern so that I don’t have to mark up the book. As far as round or other type stitch markers, there are a lot out there. I use ones from Clover (plastic or Cocoknits metal ones. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday.

Hi Nora, I’ve swatched for the Lauder cardigan and read through the pattern last night and was feeling really down about the shaping! It’ll be my first time knitting a drop shoulder construction and increasing in cables, so it feels very overwhelming. I keep reminding myself of something you’ve said before, that this hard part is only a small part of the pattern, after I get through it the rest should be a piece of cake. 🎉 Another pattern I’d love to knit this year but am “scared” of is the Oolong Tank by Aimee because I’ve never knit lace!. #yesican

My ambitious knit is the Agave
by Tricot Design MCL. It’s 2 things I’ve never done before. A set in sleeve pattern and also fingering by weight 😮. I used to be an Aran only girl, then I tried some DK patterns and liked the lighter weight. This year I bought my first fingering weight yarn and made a hat with it and it wasn’t so bad. But I do hear so many people saying a fingering top takes forever so I’m a little scared but you know what #yesican 😂

❤️❤️ 2025 has got to be the year of a color-work yoke. The Celeste Sweater by Petitknit looks like the most “adult” of them and that’s what I’d pick to knit. I grew up where/(when) color work yokes were really just for school girls and I’ve spend my 4 knitting years knitting other sweaters. It’s time. #yesican

I tried cables once, and it was tedious. I think the yarn was part of the problem, but I haven’t gone back yet. I would like to try the Dirty Chai Pullover by Meghan Babin so I can practice one type of cable and still come out with a beautiful garment at the end of it. Either that or The Aisling Hat by Aunt Janet’s Designs to get something on a smaller scale.
Thank you for your videos as a relatively new knitter. I’m only in my 3rd year, and your willingness to experiment and deal with challenges, whether in patterns or in measurements or mistakes made, gives many of us newbs the confidence to try new things. #yesican

For future projects, check out Rosemary (Romi) Hill for lace shawls, she's amazing. I like her Falderal shawl. She includes a thoughtful section on the concept behind the shawl, and a lot of video tutrials to support that particular design, as it was a MKAL a year ago. And for colorwork, check out Stephen West's Aurora Cabin series. Uses mosaic knitting, and so many marvelous stitches. Color combinations are endless, as you will see from other's projects. Great support videos here too. Also his MKAL from this year, Go Go Dynamo. That one plus Falderal both have interesting construction. Hope you like them!

For your Jose Hood, if you wanted to wear it open, you could use a shoe lace barrel knot on your ties to get them a more manageable length. For my #yesican... I have been eyeballing the Around the World Sweater to use up some of my Knit Picks Palette stash for a couple of years now. I think I have hesitated because it does not have short rows in the back neck and I will want to try to figure out how to get them incorporated without disrupting the colorwork.

Hey Nora, on what I'd like to see from you in the new year: I'd love yo see how/if you plan out your knits or knitting time. With multiple projects on the needles, how do you decide what to work on, when? Also, with a deadline knit, how do you decide to break up the large project? I struggle with all of this so I'd love to see what you do. Similar to knitty natty's planning videos. Except, however you do it because I love seeing how other people do these things.

Hi! So nice to see you again ❤ Ripping back that dress and redoing it was definitely the best choice, it looks perfect now and will probably take less time overall. I’m making a cardigan for my daughter in law and I keep ripping out and reknitting various parts because I want it to be perfect. I now have one cuff left and I’m “done”…. Will need to block, weave in the ends and add the vintage shell buttons … and then I’ll really be done. I showed my husband the sweater pattern you’re knitting your dad and he said he liked it, but he still likes the pattern I’ve knit him four times already better… good to know since I’ve been knitting him one in secret for Xmas 😂. Last year I remember thinking I would never knit a blanket but now I’m like #YESICAN and am really liking the Arctic Bloom - Snowflake by Anke Wintermans. Merry Christmas 🎄

#YESICAN My ambitious knit pattern would be The Witching Hour swoncho by Dear Ingenue. I've had it saved on ravelry for two years and I've always been too intimidated to try it. ❤

I wish we could see your hands while you’re talking to us so we can watch you while you knit or put stitches back on or anything. We can’t see your hands so it’s frustrating.
