I have loved this song since the first time I heard it 20 years ago! ❤️ never gets old! Makes me cry because “I do know why” now! None of those guys were for me…. Been married to my one and only love for 12 years this month! We have 5 sweet daughters! Just listening with our oldest on a short trip ❤️
that’s just a clean tone on his amp setting .. the rhythm guitarist is sporting the DiMarzio guitar straps which are my favorite bolt on guitar straps that I have on ALL my baritone guitars and my standard 7-string guitars they’re just so comfortable and they’re reliable ✅
It's a Piezo bridge. Some PRS guitars have this type of Bridge providing an acoustic sound. The saddles work as an acoustic pickup, so you can choose to have only the acoustic sound (as in this video), The piezo mixed with the "electric" pickups, or just the electric. Search for PRS piezo here on TH-cam you're gonna see quite a lot of videos regarding it 👍
LR Baggs offers T-bridge for Gibson style guitars and X- bridge for Fender style along with their X-control pre-amp. I installed on my Strat with the pre-amp and it sounds great. You can mix with the passive pickups and get semi- acoustic sound like an ES-335 sound. Full acoustic sounds more like an Ovation acoustic rather than a Martin. Fishman has their own version. I think Parker Fly guitars use Fishman piezo bridge.
You will be that old too soon! They are not old either, just a lot more wisdom and probably brought up alot better than these quacks running around here not knowing what they are! Life is just a vapor! Make sure you you let Jesus christ save your soul before you leave this world cause you're eternity is what matters..
Hardly recognize the dude, it's been awhile since he played with Porcupine Tree but, wow, what an inspired choice to play with VH!! Wildly different groups, but great "guitar bands".
This is one of the first songs I ever remember hearing growing up. The first time I heard it, I got goosebumps and froze. It had a power over me, I was entranced and it resonated in me, even as a young kid. It definitely made me want to play music.
23 years later this still gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to this timeless song. I am transformed back into my 17 year old self blasting this on my Sony Walkman. Thank you for sharing and being such an amazing set of musicians and song writers
Heard this on the radio on way to Boston to visit Harvard. Stopped at the first Tower Records and bought the only copy they had -- the first one. The guy at the register asked me if this was a dance CD. Didn't get into HBS. Still have this album though.
I have always love this song in high school. Graduated high school in 2001 and wow this song brings back so much memories! My teenage years flashes right before bye eye just like that. Gosh, so many years had passed but I have always felt this song is lit and special even till now. The melody and lyrics are one of a kind. Thank you for performing it! I love it!
One of my very favorite song of the 90's. The lyrics are absolutely Beautiful and sadly true. You can't make a person love you or even like you. You can "say all the right things at exactly the right time and you'll mean nothing to her and you don't know why?" ❤
when I first listened to this song, i couldn’t imagine that this song was released long time ago. This song sounds contemporary and beautiful. It is the most played song in my music app.
Ok, wut! A Singlecut Piezo with 4 knobs? that's what I've been looking for. deformed a Private Stock. but I at least know it's possible. I'll be chatting with my Sweetwater rep very soon 👍
John Wesley, by the way, one of the finest guitarists out there: haven't seen him since his "Porcupine Tree" days (another fantastic band, from England
Talent. This song aged like a fine wine.
This album was extremely influential to me, coming up as a musician.
good song
Lol
Me too...
One Of My favorites.
RJJJJJ
That second to last "why". Such emotion, frustration, confusion. Just in one word... one look, one expression. Brilliant.
I’ve always felt that this is an extraordinary song lyrically. Definitely one for the ages.
I miss the time where "Christian Rock" quietly infected the pop radio waves...just don't see that anymore, sadly :((
I read online that this song came out in the year 2000, but I heard it first in 2005. Still loving it in 2023 😍
Me too
High school days you were my go to music.Life's good

Me too... Since 1999
What is that black guitar? That's the most convincing acoustic sound I've ever heard out of an Electric Guitar
that’s just a clean tone on his amp setting .. the rhythm guitarist is sporting the DiMarzio guitar straps which are my favorite bolt on guitar straps that I have on ALL my baritone guitars and my standard 7-string guitars they’re just so comfortable and they’re reliable ✅
It looks like two output jacks/plugs and with the switch between the knobs I'm guessing it's a piezo like the P24 or HBII

I met John Wesley at a PRS Experience then went to see Porcupine Tree that nite in Baltimore - way cool - Really nice guy too
I still listen to this song today. It’s a great song then and a great one to listen to now.

Omg…. They look so old. Time flies

Really now?? He looks incredibly good for a dude who's been singing since the 90s
John Wesley as always a legend
Love how you think the song is telling a story about someone else “He” but then turns to “I” on the last verse.
That black is sick
I love John Wesley and I love Vertical Horizon. Why did it take till now for me to realize he's part of that band? Wild.

I still appreciate this song at 45 yrs old the lyrics ring truth.
Wow is that a Piezo? It sounds just like an acoustic! must...have
Yep.
Two of the most skilled and kindest mean in rock, right there!
When you write a hit, you can break it out any time!

I graduated in 2001 as well…so many memories…
I feel you, bro. Miss those days so much.
This takes me back...
Yup the hollow body SE Piezo 2 does it all and then some.
His voice is very unique, clear with a wide range of pitch and rhythm.
THis song will always be iconic for VH. Saw them for the first time in 2023 and loving it.
Love this band , my childhood's beautiful days!
Masterpiece of Alternative Rock, the whole album
John Wesley adding to the magic, again.
That piezo sounds amazing
My MT15 arrives today! Stoked (but i really wanted an Archon Santa 😭)
Love it! Still listen to VH regularly - timeless song writing.
Such a great tune. It's always been on my playlist. Love the sound of the Piezo too.

Wow! Never heard of these guys, but this is super! Thank you for posting. Great guitars - especially the one with the piezo!
Damn that just hit me hard hearing this song.
❤️
The moment that the other guitar comes in with an acoustic effect at 0:13, it sounds so lovely complimenting the electric guitar.
That’s what a song should be ❤
That was simply awesome! Always loved that song...
The ultimate friend zone song
One of my favorite songs of all times! Wow! Never gets old. So glad I get to hear another version of it!
I loved this song back then. Forgot about it after all these years. They still sound great, and this acoustic version is quite awesome.
this is a great performance, i love the way it sounds. Vertical Horizon is important to me.
Awesome throwback to a great band. Beautiful guitars!
Aged like a fine wine...What a song!!!!
wow the black PRS has that acoustic tone that was so surreal. Better than a lot of other electric guitar with piezos
Amazing, you guys sounded great, beautiful song!
Blindfolded, I would never guess that acoustic tone was coming from a PRS singlecut.
One word : EPIC
Really it's brand new , this what I am waiting for love this song ever
One of my favourite songs of my teenage years and still one of the best today for me.
Very nice performance 🥰. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻 (That sunburst 594 😍😍)
Talk about aging like fine wine
I love this song almost 20 years later
Very nice
Like a lot of other people, been there before. Great song.
This was the song of my teenage years, falling in love for the first time!! Sounds exactly the same 20 years later!
You guys are great and PRS rules
It's a beautiful song, but I love the eerie squeeze box like intro of the studio recording.
