It'd be great for him to help right his wrong while showing just how deeply he cared for Trunks all along. It'd be especially pivotal for the sort of development he gets in the Buu Saga. And I mean, obviously Vegeta *does help* with his Ki blast to distract Cell but I feel it'd hit even more if he actually went against his Saiyan pride in a more direct way i.e. Gohan and Vegeta 2v1 Cell.
