The reason Erebus is just as well finished as San Martin is because they're made in the San Martin factory. Great choice btw. San Martin really elevated the standards for finishing and construction in this price point
No. They're likely not, if it was san martin, he'd have said. He said he asked like 4 different factories and ended up switching to a different one in the end. So its not san martin. Jody also complains about san martin quality, particularly the bracelet and clasps being sharp. Amd it looks like he's using something super stock. So that'd be a bad look for him to use the thing he constantly complains about san martin.
1:18 Both ones are GMTs Also, it would be nice to see them use the oyster style design we saw on Seiko 5s, so that they aren’t left with the very stark polished finishing that comes with regular oysters. Would be nice to see the, use some Tissot-style bracelets as well.
The previous version with the red bezel with chinese markings and the patterned dial is way better looking in my opinion. also the more unique looking one. i really don't like that steel bezel
Wow, you actually got yours? I’ve been waiting since the May 10th release date and still don’t have mine, preordered on May 1st. This was my first San Martin order and I have to say they have terrible service.
It ships from China. Most AliExpress watches I've bought take between 14 to 30 days to reach me in Missouri. Only once did they come sooner than that and it wasnt a San Martin.
I’ve bought from several sellers and all have been received in two weeks or less so I am comparing them to all my other experience with sellers. I’m glad you had a much better experience with them than I have so far.
Unsure where the hype comes from. Not just from you but from nearly every reviewer I have watched. Also, the colorway is underwhelming but to each their own.
Have you ever handled their watches? Most are under 300, and closer to the low 200. Yet no other big brand can maked anything that feels like SM quality for less than 500+. When san martin wants to make something high quality they're hard to distinguish from rolex and grand seiko finishing, and for the 300 dollar mark too. That's why they're hyped, they the best bang for buck in watches (they're even beginning to do orginal designs, the only complaint people had about them)

San martin are in china but the erebus factory is in hong kong?
Whats your evidence its the same factory?
I thought it was the same factory too till i saw the erebus factory video

The clasp is identical but may be because its a generic off the shelf one with their respective logos added on. @@gilbertoflores7397
nice claim without any proof...

It's all a bit Jackie Chan, but good to see SM releasing original designs at least.
It really looks GREAT ON YOUR WRIST! Genuinely. Something funky and retro-classic. Touch of Bruce Lee and 70s and 80s vibes...I like it :)
I was going to comment that you sound exactly like Ben from Benswatchclub, never knew this channel existed but now subscribed

Ngl this is actually a cool
Watch I wish they would make more original designs.
Like it especially the bezel.
Realy nice version, like this deep red ,cool watche
It's very nice but I prefer the first Year of the Dragon they previously released (and I own)
That is also a GMT.
Good review .... but for some reason I now fancy getting a takeaway
I swear the new San Martin reminds me a bit of the Atelier Wen watches.

@@gilbertoflores7397 true! well said...
That watch needs to be gold. And not have the ugly san martin logo on it, just the dragon.
That looks so tacky! If you said that came out of a Christmas cracker I wouldn't argue 😂
Please never comment again on watch videos 😂
@@MrKreptnwhy? Because you said so? He is right. Kiddo.
This is waaaaay too reminiscent of the Chinese Communist Party esthetic. Pretty disgusting and sinister
no it's just chinese esthetic. you're reading way too much into it. red and gold has always historically been a big part in chinese styling
You’re being silly. The Chinese Communist Party is a grain of sand in the hourglass of Chinese culture.
That's why it looks so tacky thanks 😂😂
