Yes it's frightening but it was the right thing to do according to the father. She would never try to work at her marriage if her father would be present. She had already confided in him that she was going back to U.S. soon.

@@user-wv1yt I know that's cruel. One, the father doesn't know grandfather's suggestion to Dawood. Two, he is a confused desi residing abroad who are mentally Desi living in West. They want all the fun but daughters should marry in their own religion. All this is confusing for Maya Ali. I personally don't believe in all this, that's why I commented that father considered it to be right coz he trusts these people.

I'd have expected an independent girl to react more rationally----like "You ain't holding me here bruh, I'm replacing everything! You wait and watch!" This meltdown doesn't align with her character. Plot hole! Also, Dawood is too sweet---I wish he would just give it back to her as good as he gets.

I have seen many Pakistani parents who are settled with their families in Europe from many years. First they do not educate their children about Pakistani culture and Islam. And then they forcefully marry their daughters with a Pakistani man living in Pakistan. The culture is so much different. Girls then see harsh reality of society and do not even know and understand how to get settled with their in-laws and always get insulted by them. Shame on such parents. Kim also is facing the same thing. I already hate everyone except Daoud. I feel like Daood will understand her and help her in many ways.

That's called choice. You cannot force a woman to have sex even if you are married to her because that comes under marital rape so what's happened to pak dramas is that they have now started to recognize basic human rights to not be forced to have sex against will just coz you're married. Kim asked david to wait and naturally anyone would. Ye expectation hi galat h ki insaan ko hardly jaan paaye and they are expected to consummate marriages on that very night.
