Yes!!! Just what I needed tonight……Happy “First” Thanksgiving as a married couple!!!! Blessings to you both!! ❤. PS, I’d be licking that sweet potato spoon for sure!! I do enjoy watching you have the meal together.
Humble as it may be, this is truly a feast fit for a king! As someone who doesn't particularly care for turkey, this is a nice alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving feast. I'm definitely going to give this a try next year… Thanks as always, Ron and Justine! 😊
My heritage is slavic, so our holiday side-dishes are perogies and kapusta (savoury fried sauerkraut with onion, garlic, and sliced kobassa sausage). When more of our relatives were alive, we'd also have cabbage rolls, studanytz, and plenty of other dishes. Now, it's just me and my brother, so we keep it simple and relaxed. And I splurge on a locally-raised, free-range, organic turkey breast roast.
Everything looked delicious!!! Happy Thanksgiving, I'm baking pumpkin and apple pies and yeast dough for rolls is rising. We are having some Bourbon glazed Ham and a Turkey breast w/dressing,cranberry sauce, gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, pasta salad, deviled eggs, yeast rolls, pies and chocolate cake. I will have 10 for dinner. We are blessed.Cheers!! and God's blessings!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I really enjoyed watching you prepare the Thanksgiving meal! I hope you all thanked God for the lovely meal that was provided for you. Canada's Thanksgiving was in October, and we gave thanks to God for all that He did for us! I hope that you have a lovely Thanksgiving holiday! God bless you! ~Janet in Canada
I love your commitment and desire to do things the way our families did them in the past! You are both beautiful people! If I was able I would love to visit with you!
You are such a joy to watch. 😄 Here is what I found out about sweet potatoes and yams.. "A yam is a tuber. A sweet potato is a root. Yams tend to be more cylindrical and have scaly, bark-like skin. Sweet potatoes tend to have a more tapered shape and may be firm or soft with thinner skin." "Yams are native to the old world, where many can be found in Africa and Australia. Sweet Potatoes are native to the America" They are each part of different families also. Yams are of the Dioscoreaceae family, and sweet potatoes, the Convolvulaceae family, or morning glory family. We use sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes. Much more flavor. 😁
We don’t watch NFL football anymore, so our thanksgiving television consisted of watching your videos and the Townsends videos all day! Best decision ever! ❤️❤️❤️
I hope everyone reading this has an amazing and happy Thanksgiving. May the love of our Heavenly Father be with all of you on this day and always IJMN, Amen.
Happy first Thanksgiving as a married couple! This looks so delicious! It’s always refreshing to see how people back in the day cooked! I hope you guys enjoyed it! ❤

Justine I am so in awe of you being able to cook so many things over the fire. You are absolutely amazing. Ron you did such a wonderful job of putting that food away and really showing Justine what a great cook she is! Unless it's seafood rofl. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.
Your first Thanksgiving as a married couple. The meal looks delicious. It's interesting to see wine incorporated into the mashed sweet potatoes and apple pudding. The chicken is great. Thank you, Justine, for the recipes.

This, folks is what true wealth looks like. Wealth, not measured in money. In the time period a meal like that would have been a real treat. Think how labor intensive that would have been. To acquire, prep, and cook everything. We take so much fun granted. It's not like she could have run to the corner store because she forgot the butter. The husband at the end is rich beyond words. A nice comfortable home, food on the table, and a loving wife to share it with.

Did you guys ever build the new place? Just wondering
Next time you cook hole chicken u can put a bucket 🪣 under them to catch there juice 🧃 and that would be chicken gravy with salt and flour l
Was rose water a rarity and a luxury item.S.well as nutmeg and cinnamon?
I truly appreciate the natural sounds of fire crackling and food preparation along with these historic recipes. Thank you
