Sadly, there ARE some people who will be keeping their eye on the fallen humans, and so, be determined not to hear the Word of God by the others who are sincerely preaching Jesus. But, like Peter, unless we keep our eye on the One True God, and not expect the creation to be as perfect as our God, you are right, it is useless. Not the preaching of word, but having faith in our fellow humans. Keep your eyes on Jesus and look into your heart to decide who you are following. Don't let the enemy take the power out of those used by God, just because some of those used by God gave up their power to the enemy! I'll be praying for all and trusting God to use what the enemy meant for harm to the family of God for good!
Mike, God is in control. Did you ask Him before you threw away those materials? Most of these comments sound like this: God is in control vs than people write their emotional responses and leave God out of the mix.
Mike if you put a leader first or God that is the question, alot of Christians lean on pastors then God allows the storm to come and remove your supports so your only adrift with Him. This is when alot of Christian realised they had relationship leaning on a pastor not on Christ, they panic and throw everything out of the pram. God uses weak fallen vessels which are cracked that He has repaired with His nail scared hands, Jesus has picked ever piece of you that He allowed tobe smashed to pieces and remove your stiff necked unrepentant heart, remoulds He pours more of His love and more of His very crucified life into you, that His light will pour out and shine out of that cracked vase. So restasured God loves you and although you reacted to a storm in your life, trust Him not man, and embrace Jesus in the storm.
