Kim is right - pretty much every Chinese or Malaysian person owns a rice cooker. I have a mini one that's even smaller than yours, Kim, if you can believe that! Had to cart it over from Hong Kong so I needed it to be small.

BountyHunter332 I've never been to an arab or hispanic household with a rice cooker. We tend to cook white rice differently. Usually you go to the chinese restaurant and they have white rice thats made with just water and rice. Both hispanics and arabs add onions and spices to their basic white rice that gives it a totally different flavor. Arabs use different types of white rice completely (usually basmati rice).
What does what culture you are from have to do with any of this I am half Norwegian and half Morrocan. A rice-cooker just makes life 10x more easier when making rice. I have never been to fully Norwegian household or a fully Morrocan household with a rice-cooker either but that was not becuse thosse household were Norwegian or Morrocan it was becuse they had no idea that something such as a rice-cooker existed and the moment I told them they went and bought one cus it makes rice so much easier. Also there are rice-cookers in which you simply put the spice in like small pockets and it adds to the rice so how you make your rice does not change the fact having a rice-cooker is simply just better.

Why would anyone not use a rice-cooker to cook rice? Its makes it taste better as well as way more simple? What is wrong with people?
I'm Arab and PuertoRican, Rice was a staple part of almost every meal growing up and we never used rice cookers.
Why would you do that to yourself rice-cookers are so cheap and easy to use.
Personally I only cook rice once maybe every half a year, so there's no reason to get one when a pot will work too
