Nah, that title goes to crossbow master, besides orca is pretty good, it can easily carry mid game with ceramic cleanup and holds well up into endgame.
@@enderdestroyer-mr7nh My boy😭😭😭😭 (i love how everyone says he is so bad) In my personal experience, i use him on every map, every mode, for bosses etc. He has a decent save up, since he is cheap, 0-2-4 is good enough if you have some other form of dps on most maps (talking about CHIMPS). It can go up to late 50's with little supp. But most times by then you have enough. With alc+3/5-0-2 it has at least 50% track coverage (often more). For bosses its a good tower for tier 1 and 2 (most times tier 2) (elite and normal) its most likely not worth it for tier 1, but at tier 2, when you buy early, its free pops for Dart paragon. Its also with MK enough for some tier 3 bosses (elite is iffy, but doable with P.Expertise+per brew, cost most of the time is between 150-170K, for some elite bosses worth) i think its not great, i just dont see why its called the worst upgrade.
I thought about this, I think the beast handler is support out of necessity. It’s NOT a support tower, but the only other place you could put it is Basic, and if it’s basic that means Primary Mentoring gives it free tier 1s and 2s, and having free tier 1s and 2s physically breaks beast handler on a mechanical level.
I have heard somewhere (I think on the btd6 subreddit) that, for a tower to be on the support category, it needs one of two things: 1) It is not a monkey, and does not do damage to the bloons (banana farm, village) 2) It does not attack the bloons itself, all of it's damage (or the majority of it) comes from subtowers or things that the main tower spawns (engineer sentrys and bloon trap, spactory with spikes on the road and beast handler with the beasts) I have no way of confirming that this is true, but it makes sense to me
i feel like beast handler is support class bc it instead fits into the “utility” category of the support towers. but it still kinda doesn’t fit that as well bc the niches it’s different upgrades cover are really just contributing to its dps
i think to fix the crosspathing issue a good solution would be to provide more synergy between the beasts. maybe the fish could do more stunning for the dinosaurs instead of the dinosaurs getting the stun off for themselves for example
Finally, justice for the handler. I was starting to feel like the only fan of this guy, lol. Like, my friends have no interest in unlocking Beast Handler. They took one look and thought, "this thing sucks." And then I had to go and show them how good this tower was, carrying our games, and even after that they still won't unlock him. They refuse.
Agreed. They all act like you need to focus your entire strategy around it when you could simply place 1 horned owl for early game support or 1 velociraptor for decent early to mid game damage lol.
I feel like people hate on the beast handler so much because it’s hard to use, but I don’t feel like it’s that complicated. It’s not the best tower, but it’s not the worst. The hate is undeserved.
Support towers are all towers whose main purpose is not directly attacking bloons. Even the ones that attack bloons, don't specialize in doing it directly. They lay traps, foam, turrets or spikes or they control beasts.
I feel like I'm one of the two people that actually like this tower. Also I think it's in the Support catagory simply because of the main mechanic being that you need multiple Beast Handlers for maximum efficiency, and that the ones you buy for merges are effectively a "support" for your main Beast Handler
i think the reason BH is in support is because if it was in magic, which is the only other category it could fit in, then it would make magic have way to many towers
@@3clisp315 what about beat handler is support, primary or military? i mean he is literaly taming giant ancient beasts from the wild how is that not magic
I have a challenge idea for you... only use upgrades in which the image shows the face of the monkey. This means no tack shooter, bomb shooter, spike factory... and for example, bottom tier 5 monkey sub is okay but not top or middle. Middle tier 5 monkey buccaneer is okay, but not top or bottom path.
I like beast handler but I wish you could merge smaller dinos to the other paths to get cool benefits. Maybe the fish could give larger attack radius and knockback, the dinosaur could allow earlier lead popping and more ceramic damage, and the bird can give camo and maybe let it chase stuff. Another reason I don’t like it is because it just feels awkward with its prices, they’re all strong but with the low range and attack speed they just aren’t consistent enough to hit everything, but cost too much for you to afford good enough towers to clean up. I guess you can just spam them and merge them later which probably works but it’s just super unorthodox and the base tower is just such a price sink for something you may need quite a few of. Maybe if the base tower costed a little less it would be easier to utilize the dynamic between consistency with unmerged and power with merged. I feel like they could make the range smaller if they make the base tower cheaper too to help emphasize how merging allows you to move all of your power to one place which is nice.
its the 3rd cheapest base tower in the game just above the glue and dart at $270 on hard mode $250 on medium and $210 on easy, it is not a money sink when its something you can get in a minimum of 2 rounds. you can have 12 base beast handlers on round 12 they are that cheap
Micro and just general weirdness are definitely two big reasons a lot of people stray away from Beast Handler, but I think the number one reason is that if you buy Beast Handler, you kinda also have to buy a bunch more Beast Handlers to get your first one strong enough to really be worth putting down.
I've been playing with strats based around the price change to Permabrew and I gotta say its kind nutty. Of course there is the tried and true 520 ninja with a 031 army, but even my go-to favorite start of Sauda+204 glue is just kinda nutty with a permabrew. The 100% uptime on sauda and the additional pierce on the glue monkey is just so nice. The price cut also lets me get a 5xx ice monkey with no other save up. I kinda wanna try winning with a bunch of 000 damage dealers, and have permabrew be the only non 000 tower. Also, you should check out the change to Rosilina's level 6. I'm able to get 205 ace by early 80 instead of late 80s.
I like to think it's support because it doesn't itself actually place itself to fight, rather it creates damaging towers that support in areas that need support.
Beast Handler is less used simply because it’s inconvenient. Between both needing to place multiple BHs for merging and needing to micro, it simply requires more effort to use compared to other towers.
I dont think the beast handler is hard to use but boring. Tedious merging, no good cross pathing, doesn't have good synergies besides with the regular support (no cool combos), and annoying money merging min maxing.
I recently came back to see beast handler and I loved it, never understood the hate it got. Bird and Dino are awesome, orca is kinda good on strong against moabs (that might be a bit of a stretch though lol)
The problem with the beast handler is how involved you have to be with it. With other towers, like mermonkey for example, you just have to place it down and let it do it's thing and upgrade it every once in a while. With the beast handler, your constantly either upgrading or moving it's animals around to get the most out of it. This makes people, especially someone trying it out for the first time, feel like their general strategy has to revolve around the tower instead of the tower revolving around a strategy.
I used all the Beast Handlers on Anciet Portal literally yesterday to see their power as main dps tower with Churchill. Easily beat it with Giga. Save was up super easy. Just had to Micro abilities in the 90s. Mega was hard. Used Harmonic so the thrashing would hit more bloons but the latch on speed was too slow for my liking. I didnt give it a 2nd test. Pouākai did good as always as this map is strong for it AND Giga. Turned a single lane into an infinit track bc it just brings it a very short trip back to the other track. Focused on Stalling and applying debuffs with Glue Storm helped.
Support towers either focus on non-damage, or control other towers for the majority of damage. Engineer, spike factory, beast handler, none of them deal a lot of damage themselves,
Problem with beast handler is that for most people the merge system is too complicated and requires memorizing a lot of break points that just isnt necessary for other towers.
0:37 ISAB you're supposed to be better than this... top path has knockback and slowing, middle path has a big stun, and i don't need to explain bottom path. It also wouldn't fit in a different category 0:55 the stun has a huge impact, the tower is just alo strong without it 2:44 doesn't stop people from using the monkey ace and... basically any tower with targeting options actually. I hate micro but Beast Handler is literally my favourite tower. beast handler is great for 2 megapops because you get the strength of several towers all under one pop count. but yeah cool vid and fun tower i can't believe people hate on this
Imo the Beast Handler is like the Corvus of normal towers. Without some pretty heavy micro it's weaker than most normal towers, and to casuals that don't like microing throughout the entire game it would be preferred to just take a Glaive Lord ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think the reason people don't like beast handler is because it doesn't really feel like a BTD tower. It doesn't have any nuance in cross paths and it has a weird upgrading system
Is it just me or is ISAB making a comeback? I swear just a few months ago he was struggling to get over 50k views on each vid… and now he’s getting over 250k on those same vids
0:51 hmmmm maybe the top path BH could have an KB wave attack everytime it goes back into the water? that could justify spawning in some piranha/barracuda but that's just me
Beast handler just feels very out of place in the game. I dont think people dislike it just for being hard, mainly because it is so weird and you have to build your entire set up around it. I actually find mortar micro pretty fun, but i rarely use beast handler.
the main issues with beast handler for me are a. costs way too damn much money to get a max level t5 (or hell even max t4) b. crosspaths dont matter and makes it less interesting c. when you use it you basically have to use it as your main strategy. the only exception to this i can think of is adasaurus being okay early game but still it takes multiple towers to merge costing more money and space than something simpler d. its synergies are limited. im sure there are some if you really get into it but lack of alch buff makes it kind of a shitshow. you can argue things like village and overclock and glue which he uses in the video but those dont count since literally everything is a "synergy" with those since theyre more just general support towers. e. plays into c kinda but the micro required isnt inherently a bad thing but it absolutely makes the tower the main focus no matter what. f. top path is borderline worthless tldr: expensive, bad synergies, attention hog, top path bad
You can use bot path for support which makes it not necessarily the main tower (or use mid path for midgame and do something else later). I also argue that alch buff synergy is not a real synergy if you don't count village/overclock, alch buff is stupid. You have stunned synergy with mid path and position based synergy with bot path (like keeping stuff in the same specific spot for much longer for glaive lord or stalling a lot). The micro is also overrated for top/bot paths, you can do as much micro with it as you do with a normal tower because of how much range they have. I respect this one because my favorite tower is the mortar (on pc) but the only that has insane micro most of the time is mid path. I respect the rest tho.

@@auroraa4050 "Are we outta the woods yet?" Is a Taylor Swift song called Out of the Woods
It’s also just a saying… Taylor Swift didn’t invent it…
@@blackturtlerabbitpink4366 its also just a fairly common turn of phrase??? this is like seeing someone say the word "the" and calling that a reference to, idk, Terraria becayuse Terraria contains the word the. it has it in it, but it didn't invent it. it contains the phrase because it's just a common phrase.
Considering he made a clear reference a few vids ago I would like to assume that this one is another reference
it should've been a magic tower cuz really it doesn't have any support path and the bottom path isn't really a proper support bcs if thats the case then the glue and the bottom path boomerang should be support too
Piranha 2 million pops?!
beast handler is a tower you dont really use unless its the main thing youre using
Name your beast handler illegal lottery
AWESOME T-REX.
I mean, it’s so expensive to get a maxed t4 that the t4 should be about as good as a t5. That’s why they let the megalodon grab bad balloons, because it is so dang expensive.
I just don’t like how they handled cross pathing on the beast handler, as it’s basically useless to every do a 2 5 0
I tried to get 2 megapops with top path beast but since I was using Gwen to buff it's attack speed Gwen stole too many pops
Biest supports itself maybe thats why
its funny how the beast handler is considered a support tower but the glue gunner isnt
actually what even are the qualifications for being a primary tower? is it just "be one of the OGs?" cant be that, right? cause the super monkey isnt in primary and its been around since btd1
and the glue gunner came in btd4
How much testing do you do in sandbox before actually attempting these sorts of Chimps challenges?
It's support because most of the beast handlers are doing nothing but support the main guy
Isab please test the new Churchill im not sure if its better or worse
nice
If it cost almost the same amount as a paragon I think I should be good
I can't unsee the "$" in the track
might wanna change the name of the beast handler now...
It sucks tho, for the money you still get better from a prince of darkness
I wouldn't as why a tower is in a certain group at this point the best support towers are primary lol then theirs all in magic hell even sniper is more of a support then half the support towers
Do wlp all pops next
Isn’t beast handler cuz he supports the beasts? Like he isn’t the one dealing the damage, the animals who he controls/ supports do.
can you do a run on the map "Twisted Nightmare"?
REXY!
Hey, nice vid, love watching u while pooping, send hugs!!
merge merge merge 7:05
2:10 "mr beast so creative" how do we tell him 💀
Beast Handler should've been Primary... it's literally using *Primal Beasts...*
Why is the beast handler not a primary tower but the glue is???
Mermonkey: Has an expensive damage t5 in middle path
Beast Handler: Has an expensive damage t5 in middle path
Mermonkey: Has a very good support bottom path
Beast Handler: Has a very good support bottom path
Mermonkey: versatile bottom path
Beast Handler: versatile (used to be) bottom path
hmmmmm
This is also the same for like 13 towers you haven’t figured anything out buddy
@@Churros_are_Overrated frick
Yeah that's basically how the paths works, top path is mainly dps, middle has an ability that sometimes deals damage and sometimes support, and bottom path is just versatile overall
