How to Perform and Interpret Mann-Whitney U Test in SPSS (A Non-Parametric Test)

In this video, I demonstrated how to perform Mann-Whitney U test following two different routes or pathways in SPSS, and gave a detailed interpretation of the results output. A detailed data example about a company’s ice cream product, and comparison of customer satisfaction between Ice cream with strawberry flavour and Ice cream with Vanilla flavour is used in the hands-on demonstrations. Mann-Whitney U test in SPSS is a Non-Parametric Test Statistic that compares differences between two independent groups when the dependent variable is either ordinal or continuous, but not normally distributed. Basically, Mann-Whitney U Test is often considered the Non-Parametric alternative to the independent sample t-test.
