Smokey looking like he's having a religious awakening. Hahaha
truth
HAHA
I love your reaction. For more calm side Opeth I recommend "To bid you farewell", "Sun below Moon above" or "Windowspane". Fantastic songs with wonderful instrumentarium.
Don’t forget Hours Of Wealth off of Ghost Reveries as well!! One of the most beautiful compositions I’ve EVER heard!!
@BRO77TX Thank you for this song. I didn't know it, but it's amazing.
lovelorn crime
faith in others
@@Destros2ndone Thank you for this recommendation
Moon Above Sun Below is great shout
Heaviest song? Blackwater Park. Honorable mention to Master's Apprentices and most of the album My Arms, Your Hearse.
Most AGGRESSIVE though? A bit harder to choose, but this one is up there with Deliverance, White Cluster and a couple others.
BTW, if you're really in it to win it for the music, start with the album Blackwater Park and find a way to go through the whole record, and then work backwards doing the same thing. I dunno, streams or something. ALL that stuff is gold. Not only is it all A+ Opeth, but there is a high probability it will lead you to other fantastic artists. It's like an introductory education in European/Scandanavian metal and really opens up a whole new landscape of music. Not for TH-cam, but for you two, and anyone along for the ride.
Master's Appreciate is one of my Favorites!!! My Pandora played it for me last night, cuz Opeth is attached to my Puscifer/ Maynard Station...
@@sarahwilliams-curto6750 So you're to blame. :) Mine has that too. Ha
@@sarahwilliams-curto6750 Pandora be smokin that good shit.
Heir Apparent is the heaviest.
Should be listened with coil + heir apparent - it's one of their wildest musical rides
This is one of the first Opeth songs I ever heard and the one that made me really want to look deeper into them.
Heir Apparent is their heaviest song. Followed by Demon Of The Fall
Smokey’s face through this was just amazing 😂
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥
If only you had an Opeth Tuesday. 😊
Loved your reaction. I thought for a while there that Smokey was becoming possessed. 😅
Been a long time, ol' internet-friend. Hope you're well :)
@@bryanmack5410 Hi Bryan. I'm hanging in there. I hope you are too.
My favorite "harder" songs are "The Leper Affinity", "Black Rose Immortal" and "The Moor". I have a theory that it is the goal of every "Prog" drummer, to keep amazing time, while simultaneously making sure it is impossible to dance to.
More Opeth…they are awesome!
You should do Coil-Heir Apparent…find a video that has them both together. Beauty and the Beast…
Masters Apprentices is nice and heavy as well…great song.
Damn, you guys release your vids so early I end up waking my roomie with volume. Can you imagine being awakened by Mikael's death growl? lol. If you haven't yet, I recommend Demon of the Fall and The Drapery Falls.
This song is sandwiched in between two of the most beautiful songs ever written for an album. Isolation Years, The Grand Conjuration and Hours of Wealth have to be the three best songs on an album ever! and I love tool and pantera but that shit takes the cake
Love this! The singer did an album with a death metal band called Bloodbath, the album is called The Fathomless Mastery and it is my favourite death metal album of all time you should check it out!
Bloodbath started with an ep called Breeding Death which is excellent. I'm sure you know this, but you did not mention it, so to educate the masses.... This singer actually did 2 full length albums and 2 eps with Bloodbath. The 2 full lengths are: Resurrection Through Carnage and then The Fathomless Mastery. The other ep is Unblessing the Purity.
This song was my introduction to Opeth and it's still my favorite. I heard it on the radio one day and probably a month later I owned their entire discography. Amazing that I caught them playing it because I've never heard an Opeth song on the radio since.
I’d vote for Master’s Apprentice for heaviest I
Opeth for the chug factor. So many gems in the catalog though for sure! 🤘
The heaviest riff of all time, written in standard tuning..A440.
I highly recommend an Opeth marathon for sure! Big catalog of amazing music. You’ll thank yourselves, I 100% promise!!🤘
Never been a massive Opeth fan, there are a good few songs I like and Akerfeldt is just a legend. Still remember seeing this song on TV in the early 2000s.
Incredible live band though if you ever get the chance go see them. I remember listening to them play at a festival and it was just dropping dark, shit you just don't forget.
Yeah baby, more Opeth Tuesdays should be a thing .. or Prog Tuesday maybe?
Anyways... you could add Pain of Salvation - On a Tuesday on your list...
Smokey was having an out of body experience like the whole time. Love it.
If you like those genre switches in songs then I can only suggest Mr. Bungle...they were kings of doing that stuff, they always kept the listener interested.
Colors by BTBAM is a classic in this regard too
😂 "You can't drop my heart rate like that... you know what's about to happen"!!! Awesome!!!
KILLER TUNE!
Reminds me of sinister tool that visited Salem (witch city) enjoyed it. Liked the contrast of voice as well as guitar rift and drumming
Hollywood
What's up with the hartford Whalers hat
Now that's old school hockey
Yes, are you a fan, or is there a reason?
@@michaelmccombs2959someone sent him the hat as a gift 😊
Speaking of the Black Queen, their music is worth checking out. Greg from Dillinger is the vocalist. It's an electronic side project. Dope stuff.
Nah I just make Pony vids lol
LOL Smokey, only 7m +... in, and "the song changes every 15 sec", talking about Dream Theatre... Greatness! Love Yall sooo much, excellent choice of Opeth songs...!! Sooo many more, newish album, Fantastic!! In Both Languages!! Love the Swedish version too!
Opeth-Ghost of Perdition
Good stuff! Haven't thought about Opeth in a while! Because of the name, I confuse them with Otep a lot. Bad ass chick vocalist. Screams harder than a lot of dudes
It's been YEARS and I still like how you make Smoke guess the song title.
After the burial - a wolf amongst ravens
Motionless in White, Thoughts and Prayers, Slaughterhouse, Devils Night, Reincarnate, and America... check em out! Dig the channel, keep em coming!
Opeth had more Death Metal elements in their music, especially at the beginning on the first albums, and this became less and less in the later albums, now there is almost no harsh singing anymore, you may like the newer albums better, by the way, Opeth or above all Michael's singing is the biggest influence and role model of Tatiana von Jinjer
Yeah when I heard the song Sorceress I was like what ? I totally love it now ! And it didn't take long . Its actually refreshing not to hear so many growls these days . And they can do it masterfully . They don't really need to do it other than accents .
smokey is what we call an EARGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this so much!!
The Art in the music of Opeth is unsurpassed. Also, when you listen closely, very closely and intensely, you can feel all darkness.
Windowpane or Hessian Peel next dudes!
Smokey fighting getting sucked into the void
Yup, we are a bit odd up here in the north. Hihi
Absolutely and always in my Top 10 metal tracks. And, sign me up for TOOL + Six Feet Under.
Yes! More Opeth!
Opeth Serenity painted death is a must. Thanks for opeth you are great
I am GOOD on setting foot in Philadelphia ever again lol
More Opeth! Blackwater park, A fair judgement, take your pick
Yes! Opeth! ❤
Blackwater Park or Hessian Peel.
The Grand Conjuration is entry level heavy.
Fun reaction.
Just thought I'd mention kudo's on the OG Whalers cap!! Harvest will be a good Opeth to check out next. For heaviest, Deliverance.
No, the final boss in Opeth, is Black Rose Immortal.
BRRN BRRN NNRR indeed
BAYING OF THE HOUNDS is another musical journey from OPETH
I live in Tampa and would never want to visit Florida again. I agree with you both on Jacksonville. That place is a dump of a town. It was when I first visited 37 years ago and still is.
Heaviest song by them IMO is Heir Apparent. Masters Apprentice and Blackwater Park are right there. But there's plenty older ones.
Love you guys. I hear you talk about death metal but you have never checked out the band that the term came from. Check out Death, lack of comprehension. Please.
The first song I listened to by Opeth and I didn't really like it. But when I listened to deliverance I fell in love with them. This one is the most odd of Opeth songs for me but still very good.
Check out their song Sorceress . They go more psychodelia then growls and such . He sings clean vox and adds a 60s 70s approach. If someone in the comments can explain it better feel free to . But it is a fire song .
That was the first Opeth song I ever heard and led me down the rabbit hole…now probably my favorite band.
This is not their final boss, fantastic song that got me into Opeth nonetheless. Master's Apprentice, Heir Apparent are definitely heavier. Mikael also has some heavy stuff with Bloodbath which is like a death metal supergroup
I remember hearing 5 and 10 minutes versions of this song and not noticing any significant difference at all, lol.
Opeth - Godhead's Lament 🤘🤘
I know i've requested this before, but if you want some badass progressive metal, please check out the band Persefone and the song The Majestic of Gaia. You will love it i promise!!!
I'm old school. We just call it metal or rock or folk. Didn't have sub genres
you know i read it in a magazine boi
Heir Apparent is the heaviest.
Make Opeth Wednesday a thing please ♡
Face of Melinda next? (i am unbiased)
That was an interesting reaction. "Opeth" is very cool. But I want to say something. I suggested a few songs to you over the years and none of them are on your channel. Is it because you ONLY accept suggestions from Patreon (which I don't have) or what is the problem? I don't get it. Or are my suggestions to specific? I don't understand. When it is the Patreon reason than yes that is a great business model but it is unfair to people that don't have Patreon. I am not giving any suggestions in this comment because they will not make it on the channel anyway. That is what I wanted to get off my chest and I do feel better now :D
do Harvest by Opeth next 😎
Martin Lopez on the drums
This is definitely not the final boss of Opeth songs lol
Twisted insane underground psycho please
This is hardly the Opeth final boss song. Night and the Silent Water, Deliverance, Black Rose Immortal and White Cluster are final boss songs.
KRS One from 95 CIA
NOT THE FINAL BOSS... HEIR APPARENT
Baked
Is progressive REALLY understood in any genre where it's prevalent?
I think much of the appeal of progressive music is not understanding what's going on.
Hey guys react to Dream Theater "As i am " great channel ....cheers
FIRST
Good recommendation.
Delaware
Love y’all but 8 mins and a half before the reaction is crazy
This obviously isnt their heaviest song. Lol.
this is sped up
