    I got a 4500Lumen Epson projector. I say It is jjst strong enough to be decent during summer with all blinds shut.
    2500lumen only works at night during winter in my opinion.
    Even at these examples you are at half brightness from a TV.

    I have a 20 foot wide pvc panels 21:9 250 diagonal screen with flat gray screen paint Optoma Uhd38 (4000 Lumens) projector which projects perfect video. You can go beyond the widths that you mentioned in your video without compromising picture quality.

    This was really helpful. Been using projector everyday as a main TV for the past 6 years, never knew the things he's said. Thanks a lot.
    I'm looking for an 'everyday' cinema, netflix and mild gaming projector. Roughly on 6-7 hours everyday on average.
    We had BenQ W2000+ and we've already changed the lamp once in 5 years.
    We are not happy, it's not bright, colors are faded and it needs 100% darkness to work.
    Low day light, nothing is visible, if there's a darker film scene, it's like even projector is not on.
    Even in full darkness, dark scenes are challenging to watch, we don't see many scenes happen in films.
    So I'm open for suggestions, budget aside, we really need a sharp strong projector where we can watch with soft day light during the day, see colors vividly and don't have to change light bulb every 2 years.

    • @brookejohnson6974
      @brookejohnson6974 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I would look into changing the lamp more often with that use. Most don't even realize that the lamp progressively gets worse over time. It just does't go out. You can grab an inexpensive light meter and check it every year.

    how about using multiple projectors using a computer with multiple monitor support like amd eyefinity? using 2 to 6 projectors, do I just add the lumens up? so if I have 1500 lumens for each projector and I have 4 projectors I have a total of 6000? or 4 projectors at 5000 are added up to 20,000 lumens?

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Generally, two is the limit. It is exponentially harder to align more projectors as you stack them. I can’t say I’ve ever seen more than 3 stacked. I would stack 2x10k if you need 20k

      I don't. When I left the industry everyone was using laser projectors from Epson, Panasonic, or Cristie.
      If you're not projection mapping, everyone has mostly converted to LED wall at this point.

    Question I’m building a movie theater in my backyard out of a metal building. It has no windows just pitch black darkness in the room. No I’m ive a really good Cinema Grey Screen with a pretty good gain. It rejects a lot of ambien light. Not I’m wanting to put a 300 inch screen inside it. Which it like 22 feet long and 22 feet high. Since it will be pure darkness inside. Will 6,000 Lumens be good to project a good image on a 300 inch screen? I know my Epson 6050UB rated at 2,600 Lumens on the same type screen looks fantastic on 150 inches and that’s a 11 foot screen in a very low ambien light room.

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have zero light in the room, I think a 6k will pop just fine. There are online calculators for this type of thing if you want to triple check though. For comparison, we use our 6k on a 16' wide screen in a ballroom with "dinner" lighting and they are plenty bright.

      Awesome I’m like you I like to use the Epson. I’m trying to use the EPSON PRO L1100U rated at 6,000 lumen 2,500,000 contrast ratio. 4K Enhancement. I wanted the ESPON PRO L1405 rated at 8,000 Lumens but it’s over double the price. And Due to the EPSON PRO L1100U being a discontinued item I found it for $3,000 cash out the door New In Box. The 1405 would have been like $7,000. So I thought give it a try. :)

      Depends the screen size, but I would say it's pretty safe. Generally we would rent out a 5k projector for an 8' wide screen in a community hall with some windows and still be safe. That being said, you'll get a lot more colour depth when you're in a room without windows.
