Good suggestions but unfortunately the whole reason Grailed is so cooked now is because it got bought out by GOAT in 2022. Everyone who was originally involved has either cashed out or got fired. Say what you want about pre 2022 Grailed, it obviously had a ton of issues but it was still ultimately founded and staffed by people actually passionate about archival fashion. While the updates and moderation often left a lot to be desired that was sort of a by product of the site being run by fashion enthusiasts and not silicon valley and VC types. Which is exactly who now controls the site. Grailed also never turned a profit and I have no doubt GOAT gutting it's staff was the first step in trying to fix that. Next step is definitely not going to be more improvements and features. It's probably going to be raising fees and gutting features (like deleting all sold listings older than 30 days or something equally retarded). Chances are 5 years from now you'll look back on the shitty blown out 2024 version of Grailed and wish it still existed. I forsee the site either becoming insanely more shitty or GOAT just cuts their losses and shuts it down completely / folds it into GOAT itself. Also Japanese second hand sites are insanely cursed now too. I guess it depends on the brands you're into but for a lot of stuff there's an insane amount of Chinese fakes now. The worst part is they buy from themselves to get a bunch of 5 star reviews and they'll use photos of legit product so it's basically impossible to tell if a listing is fake or not. They're fully aware of how most stuff being bought on Japanese sites these days is foreigners with proxy services. The thing is, proxy services specifically DON'T cover insurance for fakes. So for the Chinese it's the perfect scam. When your obviously fake shit arrives in the mail you basically have no recourse. The proxy service won't refund you because they use a buyer beware policy. So there's a stupid ass wall between you and the Chinese scammer who ripped you off. Even with how bad Grailed is today you can still generally get your money back if someone sends you fake shit. You report it to Grailed and they'll refund you. Worst case you open a Paypal dispute and that usually solves it. Zero chance of that happening with the Japanese sites. And if you open a dispute they'll ban you for life from proxying anything else ever.
Very very very true. Thank you for your comment, I think a lot of people can benefit from reading this. Using a middleman / proxy for overseas clothes is not for the faint of heart. It is insane. I experienced a similar thing last year when I wanted to buy a pair of boots. Beat as fuck 2/10 condition guidis for $700 in my size. great. literally cheaper to wait for retail pieces to go on sale.
I started my vintage clothing shopping last year on grailed, but once I dipped my toes on ebay I rarely have bought anything on grailed since. Hell ive bought more from SSENSE and weirdos from Canada thsn Grailed. lets not forget admin accounts that straight up SPAM listings with like 3 pictures , stolen directly from the website that they're dropshipping from and without including any pics of tags or any proof of owning the item , and THEY GET THE AUTHENTICATED badge like shieet
Did bro put bf3 music in the background?
Someone is selling 5 dollar Supreme grip tape for the same price as a skateboard nowadays. That is not a resale, that’s a scalp. That man is scalping posers. Kinda funny but it’s fucked
Grailed deleted my listing of a supreme beanie cuz they thought it was fake. I sent them tags and detailed shots but it wasn’t enough for them, said they needed a receipt/proof of purchase. It’s a fucking beanie I bought in store when I was in high school a decade ago do you really thinking I was keeping receipts?
LOL, yup sounds like grailed
Stop cursing its a sin dude!!!!!!!!......
Same here. I bought a bomber from a trift, and the washtag was ontop of the necktag.
However, grailed didn't think it was "authentic enough" and I needed to show my reciept.
And then we have sellers like 4g who can sell whatever on the platform.
We need a Grailed app dark mode. My eyes burn
I asked for it on /r/grailed right around when they increased fees and the official grailed account said it's being worked on, years later still no dark mode. Absolute joke of a site, it'd take a webdev like 2hrs max to implement and test for bugs.
SAID PERFECTLY... AND BRO ILL POST YEEZY SZN AND RICK SAMPLES AND MODERATORS TAKE MY SHIT DOWN FOR BEING TAGGED INCORRECTLY
I hate selling on Grailed, but I am stuck there cause there is nowhere else really to sell. It's so shit
my way around this is the second hand stores or finding someone on tiktok/ig it really sucks that there aren’t better alternatives
Someone leave a like if another platform for higher end / vintage should exist besides grailed and depop!
