I think commenting about her high notes is underrating her artistry. This is not even should be judged by the wy she sang it but by the she delivered the message.
Hitting the high notes if necessary close to perfection is included in artistry. Ask the voice coaches and thy would tell you. It is not opinionated but a fact. And you said “the way she sang” means her style and that is what we are talking about. Delivering (style) the message is already in there. Her style is hitting all the notes perfectly including the difficult notes that we mentioned. Again, ask the voice coaches. I was saved in an Assemblies of God church in Tucson, and later this song was recorded and released. It depicts the road on which Jesus Christ walked bearing his cross on his way to be crucified for my sins and your's. I can recreate the walk in my mind as the vocalist sings this song. It is mighty in power, and through the power of the Holy Spirit it brings conviction to each of us, but then much thanks that Jesus willingly took that walk to save our souls from hell. Because Jesus took that walk, all of us human being are free from condemnation because Jesus took upon himself our sins and the payment that God demands for our sins. We are truly free and can celebrate as this song is sang, but must never marginalize the price paid for us!

This was honestly the most beautiful arrangement that I've ever heard. Period. The message was delivered from a beautiful humble vessel and the instruments/choir did not drown out the soloist. Very well done. Thank you for sharing, stay healthy, be of good courage, and God bless all of you. (Smile)
Thank you for the beautiful compliment. My husband, Doug Coppi, produced this arrangement with a team that he put together. He chose Lea for this particular song.
Surely this is one of the most beautiful voices on earth. I’ve watched her sing I Dreamed a Dream probably 30 times this last week since I stumbled onto her. Sometimes in life you’re surprised by greatness - and you wish you could describe it. But then you realize that sometimes in life the goal Is not to attempt to describe everything - but only to experience it. This is one of those times. I don’t know what to say.
This song has always been great through ages.. it's hardly heard nowadays at churches. Wish it's sung more often nowadays. Great singing by a great singer too.. 👍👏
This song makes me cry every time! Makes me wonder how Christ suffered for you and me out of His love! Praise the Lord with all my heart! Glory to God!
i thought i could no longer appreciate this gospel song since i am no longer a christian, but i was wrong. this song is still beautiful to listen to even if you no longer believe its message. i also thought that no professional singer should attempt to cover this song since it is already perfectly sung by sandi patty. i was wrong again, coz lea salonga sang it with at least equal if not with more power and passion.
She's a gem. She's perfectionist when it comes to singing coz she knows she can sing perfectly. She broke the stereotype that Asians doesn't deserve a spotlight on the world's prestigious stages.

trent8002003 Not trying to shove religion down your throat I just wanted to share some testimonies . My stepdad before he was a Christian was fishing and got his boat stuck. It was winter and he didn't want to get in the water so he decided to pray. Before he was done a man pulled up and asked him if he needed any help. The man said he lived two hours away and something told him he had to go help someone. My grandfather once picked up a man on the side of the road and talked to him about Jesus because an audible voice told him to. The man was a backslidden preacher and he had a gun with him to commit suicide. I pray you will think about it l.Jesus is real and He wants a personal relationship with you. He suffered such a horrific death to pay the price for our sins. All He asks of you is to believe in what He did for you and sincerely ask Him to forgive your sins and He will. God bless!
+Angie Maxwell There's no such thing as "shoving religion down your throat." Christianity isn't a religion in any case, though there are religious practices attached to it. All we are instructed to do by Christ Himself is share the story. It is then up to the listener. :-)
@@MaskedMan66 what are u talking about. Christianity is a complete and total religion indoctrined with rules and stipulations that one must obey by or suffer consequences. The only path out there in the world that is not a religion but is actually considered a "way of life" is Hinduism, where this path teaches the acceptance of multiple spiritual paths to enlightenment whereas abrahamic religions teach only that "there" religion is right.
+xxplicitdyme1 Nope. Christianity is a direct relationship with the Creator and Savior. You see, God is not in the business of sending people to Hell; quite the reverse. The whole reason for Christ's mission on Earth was to assure Heaven for those who accepted the gift. The breaking of a rule-- in other words, the committing of a sin (or even many sins)-- is not grounds for fear, because forgiveness is also God's business. As for Hinduism, its main flaw is that it is very wishy-washy and not at all clear about what is right and what is wrong. Plus, it adheres to a bigoted caste system, even today.

Lea Salonga singing this well written song and a testament of Jesus Christ’ s description of His condemnation by men n women, Crucifixion, sacrifice and death on the Cross reflect His Love for you n me, reflect God’ s Love for us. It is a beautifully crafted and arranged version of this song only a Lea Salonga can best sing with passion, emotion and vividness as she takes us to that day when Christ was condemned to death. Very cleansing and moving song replete with the support of our military singers. I was taken again and again to the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem and at the Foot of the Cross listening to this song over and over each day. I feel the Via Dolorosa experience when I carried the Cross from station to station with fifty other Christians while praying when we visited Israeli ten years ago as our pilgrimage to the Calvary and the Foot of The Cross. Its Ressurecting .
Saw Sandy Patty sing this live and to be honest never thought anyone could do it better and here once again Lea shows me that she never falls short of signing from the heart! Wonderful wonderful wonderful and how a gift of God is to be used!
I remember Shirley Kinsey singing this beautiful song in our little Union Church in San Salvador for Easter. She only sang one song that I heard which wasn’t for Jesus and that was when she sang the national anthem at the Escuela Americana on the 50th anniversary. Now she’s probably singing at the feet of Jesus. Lea brought tears to my eyes here as she did in her role in Les Misererables.

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see

He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His headAnd He bore with every step

If you really and truly believe, that means that you take what Jesus has said with utmost seriousness as the absolute truth always to be heeded and fully obeyed--for to believe in him means to obey him.
World-class performance by a world-renowned Filipino artist extraordinaire. So proud of you, Ms. Lea Salonga.
Found this song on Easter Sunday and it makes me so emotional just imagining all the things Jesus did on the Via Dolorosa to save us from our sins. Incredible rendition from Ms. Lea Salonga.
sometimes less is more. This is pared down musically but the soul and the reverence and convictions with which Lea sings this makes me listen with full attention. She nailed it!
As i was listening to Lea with eyes closed, my tears started to flow. Beautiful!. Lea’s rendition is beyond compare in my opinion.
best singer .. ganda ang boses matalino pa..👍👍👍
Pray for those 277 thumbs down people; THIS was probably THE best delivery of this song that I have ever heard!
They are 403 thumbs down now....
They are just envious because an Asian nailed it!!!!😂
They are probably atheists or from non-Christian groups
I agree there was much more emotion and depth in this one than in the original. I was part of a group that did this on Easter Sunday. I wish I had heard this one before I did it. It was this is totally totally beautiful. It was a great gift to God
My only critique is that she didn’t dress appropriately for the occasion with her off-1 shoulder top she wore. JMHO.
TO ME - THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL SONGS I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE! IT TOUCHED MY HEART AND MY SOUL ENABLING ME TO LOVE JESUS "MY LORD AND MY GOD" MORE THAN EVER BEFORE!!! THIS SONG HAS A BRILLIANT INTERPRETATION AND BEAUTIFUL ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION!
YOU SO CORRECT
Christian totally agree with you
That high note "Christ" @3:54 was belted so smooth and crystal clear and even sounded 0% struggle. Such vocal control she has. One of a kind Leah my ❤ 😍😍😍
Absolutely stunning. No one sings it like her. How can't you get chills?
This was honestly the most beautiful arrangement that I've ever heard. Period. The message was delivered from a beautiful humble vessel and the instruments/choir did not drown out the soloist. Very well done. Thank you for sharing, stay healthy, be of good courage, and God bless all of you. (Smile)
Soo beautifully sang by our very own Lea Salonga
Parabéns que talento que Deus te abençoe
@@mgacell8344 Ela é muito talentosa e acho que foi tocada por Deus.
Thank you for the beautiful compliment. My husband, Doug Coppi, produced this arrangement with a team that he put together. He chose Lea for this particular song.
@@sharoncoppi1446 indeed very beautiful, so touching i could cry.
Surely this is one of the most beautiful voices on earth.
I’ve watched her sing I Dreamed a Dream probably 30 times this last week since I stumbled onto her.
Sometimes in life you’re surprised by greatness - and you wish you could describe it. But then you realize that sometimes in life the goal
Is not to attempt to describe everything - but only to experience it.
This is one of those times. I don’t know what to say.
This song has always been great through ages.. it's hardly heard nowadays at churches. Wish it's sung more often nowadays. Great singing by a great singer too.. 👍👏
VIVA LEA PROUD OF THE PHILIPPINES !!
This song makes me cry every time! Makes me wonder how Christ suffered for you and me out of His love! Praise the Lord with all my heart! Glory to God!
Lea Salonga sings from her heart not just words coming out to her mouth. She really made her best to this wonderful song with full of emotion.
Lea is a world class talent, Proud of Pinoy, she's just one of the finest singer in the world.
She never fails to impress the world, the amazing lea salonga.
This is honestly the BEST performance of this song that I have heard, yet !!! Beautiful job, Lea !!
i thought i could no longer appreciate this gospel song since i am no longer a christian, but i was wrong. this song is still beautiful to listen to even if you no longer believe its message. i also thought that no professional singer should attempt to cover this song since it is already perfectly sung by sandi patty. i was wrong again, coz lea salonga sang it with at least equal if not with more power and passion.
I pray you return to the Lord. He loves us more than we can ever imagine. This song let’s us know He was on his way to Calvary to die for you and me.
She's a gem. She's perfectionist when it comes to singing coz she knows she can sing perfectly. She broke the stereotype that Asians doesn't deserve a spotlight on the world's prestigious stages.
Exelente bendito Dios y Padre que se dio a sí mismo por salvarnos de la condenación eterna Gracias por este bello video
Goosebumps Grabe 😱
Galing talaga ni Ms. Lea .
Her voice. HER VOICE !
I play the violin but I've always wanted to be a singer like Lea. The quality of her voice fits with this kind of music. She sings with that powerful voice. I cannot compare her to Sandy Patty. They both have different quality of voices. :)
Still here to listen to this beautiful song sung by Lea Salonga. Such a magnificent one. Thanks God for you have this great talent of singing. March 30, 2021
I really love her voice, she's been in my heart since long ago .philipinos must be proud of her
The primary thing is that our lives, heart, soul, spirit and body are given to Christ regardless of church affliattion. We are his ambassadors of hope, grace, mercy and love from God.
The best ever performance with this wonderful song! Our very own Lea Salonga. Mabuhay!
She is a good story teller and every words of the song penetrates in the heart of one who hears it. She sang with passion, perfection and even in spanish.
her voice is amazing. she did this song justice. as beautiful as Sandi Patty.
More beautiful really, in my opinion.
Ms. Salonga is very well blessed with her Angelic, so beautiful voicè reaching and touching hearts and souls..God you are awesome and giver of talents. PRAISE you Almighty Father.😘
I didn't think I will ever find someone who topped Sandy Patty in this song until now. Beautiful performance!

The lyrics and the singing reach the innermost of my being. I can listen all day and feel God in my surroundings
She must be walking with Him on The Way while singing this. Beautiful
Goosebumps! And I am not a christian. Such gift. Such power. She could move mountains with that voice!
trent8002003 Not trying to shove religion down your throat I just wanted to share some testimonies .
How can you listen to this and not
want to believe in Him who died
for you?🙏🏻
Even the Español portion of the song was well versed. 2019 and is still lit!
Its not latin, its español
"Wow!" The best rendition ever. I love this singer. The best if all! God bless you always!

best version thus far.
Angelic voice with the pouring of such emotion. Her rendition and voice had just about brought me to tears. You are wonderful, and god bless. :)
Her voice gave me goosebumps. She did amazing with this song. Beautiful voice y muy hermosa
The voice of an angel
the quality of her voice and expression ... is so expensive .... in love with her ))
man....jesus...that made me cry..even after listening to it like 10 times i still cried. Amen...
I have never heard this song...Lea is so clear,strong, and passionate...Perfect! 8.2020.
Johannes 3,16 ❤
