BChangdeokgung (Hangul, 창덕궁, 昌德宮; literally, "Prospering Virtue Palace"), also known as Changdeokgung Palace or Changdeok Palace, is set within a large park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is one of the "Five Grand Palaces" built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). As it is located east of Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeokgung-along with Changgyeonggung-is also referred to as the "East Palace" (동궐, 東闕, Donggwol).
Changdeokgung was the most favored palace of many Joseon princes and retained many elements dating from the Three Kingdoms of Korea period that were not incorporated in the more contemporary Gyeongbokgung. One such element is the fact that the buildings of Changdeokgung blend with the natural topography of the site instead of imposing themselves upon it. It, like the other Five Grand Palaces in Seoul, was heavily damaged during the Japanese occupation of Korea (1910-1945). Currently, only about 30% of the pre-Japanese structures of the East Palace Complex (Changdeokgung together with Changgyeonggung) survive.

the filming location of 'Kingdom' is not this palace but 'Mungyeong saejae'
cinema setting site.
Palaces in Seoul is not using for movies, dramas production.

Ouais, un des très très rare site historique de la Corée. Il n'y a vraiment pas grand chose à voir au point de vue historique en Corée... De plus ce site complètement vide de vie est payant. La restoration du site est vraiment mal faite, il n'y a aucun objet ou meuble d'époque pour que l'on puisse comprendre l'utilisation des chambres, et la cerise il y a plein d'anachronismes visibles. Ce qui est le plus drôle c'est que le site est classé au patrimoine de L'Unesco... Si vous arrivez à classer un site pareil à l'Unesco vous devriez classer tous les petits villages d'Europe bien mieux conservés et authentique et qui continuent à vivre. L'Asie possédait beaucoup de sites magnifiques mais les gens désintéressés n'ont pas étés capables d'entretenir et de reconstruire, c'est vraiment du gâchis. La plupart des sites historiques sont aujourd'hui dépourvu de vie et doit à chaque fois payer une entrée comme si on allait dans un parc d'attraction, c'est vraiment nul. Pour un touriste lambda qui ne connaît pas l'Asie cela pourra sembler bien, mais pour une personne à l'oeil averti la visite de la Corée pour aller découvrir une culture au travers de son histoire n'est pas à conseiller, trop peu de sites historiques authentiques et les seuls sont comme des pièces de musée qu'il ne faudrait pas toucher, vraiment pathétique.
