@@RossReviewsau soz random but something for you to check out. In 1997 Cadillac sold a car in QLD Australia through the Holden dealership in Brisbane. It was run in the news papers and the Fleetwood and Fleetwood limousine were at the 1997 Brisbane car show. The Fleetwood was $150,000 the limo was $170,000 It was a 5.7litre V8 and was 5.7metres long. I loved it. Brisbane dealership had a few there. If you could find this car and review it, you would be the first to do so. Even some of the yanks that review Cadillac didn't know that we got one here. I think the dealership was on Winsor Rd Brisbane, but don't quote me on that lol. I'll try to find some info. I looked before and found nothing! Maybe someone will know more than me and add info. 👍 I was in grade 9 then and ended up buying a manga elite 1988 for my first car in 1999 It was amazing digital dash power everything. Great car.
I love the "parts bin" type cars, nothing wrong with that. You could argue that the FGX xr6/8 sprints are pretty much "parts bin" cars but how awesome are they! Also it's just cool.... think about it.... a bunch or engineers designing and building cars are told: "make something, and go take what you want from the stocks...(parts bin)" Of course they make something cool!
I never knew of such a car like this either, what an amazing example. I personally think it looks better than the other Haussie version available at the time, and what a great lil engine the HO302 is.
Bloody hell I want one even more now! I've had the brochure for this and 2 variations of the concord framed and up in the spare room for ages, they are a stunner! Another awesome review!!
Great looking arse on these cars. I always wished Ford made the front end on these more distinctve from the Fairmont. That Grange you showed is more of a competitor to the AU LTD.
@RossReviewsau yeah I think the correct year model to compare this 1998 FBT by would have been the previous model Grange, the HSV VS Grange which sold from 1996-99 👌 Would be awesome if you could review a 1 of 19 made 1999 series 3, which put out 215kw.
The ride off the Fairlane makes it one of the best open road touring car because of the extra wheel base. If that suspension set up was put into a falcon the ride harsh.
@@RossReviewsau should try fine some one with a ford ea svo 👌🏻 I should have got the defected off mine instead of striping it. thing ya do when ya pay bugger all for stuff haha
Great review and it was good to see you rev out the 5.0 litre Windsor to Reline. These engines are happy to operate in that area all day long. I think you could have got better times for the EB and EL GT’s if you had rung their necks longer in the lower gears off the mark.
In auto cars it’s a little easier 🤣 plus that EL was running a little rough been sitting a while unfortunately but yeh I tend to go a little easier on manual cars

Thats quite the collection. That fairmont sounds like fun. And the manual xr8. Nice one to keep stock and just spend $'s on making it from factory condition. 👍😎👍
I drive a standard six cylinder one of these with 380,000 km on it, I’ve had it for 17 years, and I’m prepared to pay the maintenance to keep it going, because it is so much better than the crap they trying to sell today. That one sounds absolutely beautiful.
Mine has matching number plates to the engine number too , and it’s got a spoiler on the back . The steering wheel Momo. Very good handling takes the corners well. The one you are showing doesn’t have the spoiler on the back I’m wondering why? Was $75 gran. Bit hard to fit into shopping car parks the back tends to stick out. But it’s very nice for long drives , turn the stereo up put it into cruise control, my adrenaline rush !
Beautiful car. I had one. Bought it off Brad Garlick and Ford dealer in Sydney in the red. I also owned and EL GT. The manual in the GT made all the difference to me.
Almost time for a RR car cruise in Perth! The York Festival of motoring got cancelled but I'm sure if you promoted a cruise you could get a decent convoy heading out to one of WAs most historic towns. Sept when the weather fines up! 😉

Hell yeah Credit to good old Windsor 195 Coming in under 8’s to 100.. There was a few SVO xr8’s and Fairmont’s that were supercharged Making 215kw. If you can find one of them m8.. be another rare falcon Love all the 90’s Aussie content.. keep it coming man 👌👌👌👌
Nice car, Ross. Ver low Ks. Sure is well looked after. It’s quick considering the weight and size of the car. Sure was a lot of money back in ‘98. Thanks for another great review.
Great video, would be awesome if you can quote what mods the cars have, this Fairlane definitely has an aftermarket exhaust would love to know what it has.
When are you going to do the BF G8 FAIRLANE only 156. And I have a show room condition and just happen to be in WA. I'll Evan let you do the 10 second test. You will leave nice black twin rubber lines as you floor it. Awesome Tickford find.🤙

Thank you Ross for sharing this Ford Fairlane. I know I am watching this review a year later. This car looks like the Ford Crown Victoria we have in the United States around 1995: th-cam.com/video/OYGdmf-ibaE/w-d-xo.html The differences are: the American Ford is longer and wider. Both are rear drive and use V8's. The Australian car has a better interior and materials. I prefer the digital gauges on the American Ford. Thank you for sharing.
