  • A wonderful documentary on the life of the world's greatest tap dance team. Featuring rare film clips, interviews with other great stars and of course the Nicholas brothers. This is generally considered the best documentary to date on the famous dancing duo. Presented for historical purposes. I do not own the rights.

Wow, that dance number they did in the Stormy Weather production. The stamina and endurance was incredible. I can't see ANY dancer(s) coming anywhere near that level of power, control, creativity, and heart.

I got to play with Fayard back in the early 2000s, as part of a tap dance review. He had an act with his wife Katherine. I'd play a baseline and he'd respond to it. Simple cues but always different from set to set.... and always entertaining. He'd have the audience cracking up, while tapping their feet.

Imagine what could have been if they'd been allowed to perform with white people on screen. Their last film together was 1948’s The Pirate, in which Gene Kelly danced with them. Gene Kelly fought to get them in the movie but the "Be a Clown" sequence was cut by exhibitors in Memphis and other U.S. cities in the South because it included The Nicholas Brothers. That was pretty much the end of their film career.

If the Nicholas Brothers were contemporary this doc would have millions of views and they'd be rich. They made dancing look so easy that anyone who watched said I can do that, then they tried.

I wish I would have been alive back then to go to the Cotton club. Thankfully they captured some of the performers on film and recorded the radio shows.

The best! The Eddie Cantor Society was honored to have Fayhard attend one of their functions. He spoke glowingly of being in movies with Eddie!

I've seen numerous dancers over the decades and no one..... comes close to the Nicholas brothers!!! People have tried but none have come close in my opinion! You can try to copy their moves and do some of the same types of acrobatic movements .....that the Nicholas brothers did. But the flair .....the way the Nicholas Brothers presented themselves.... they were the whole package and that only happens once! They have that spark ....they're the ones that have that magic! They just cannot be duplicated!

I am in awe and wonder at the beauty and style of both Feyard and Harold. They were a marvel and incredible role models for young tap dancers. Study the style, the athleticism and skill. They were a thing of beauty to cherish for an eternity.

They are the greatest dancers ever. I have looked at their videos about 50 times since I discovered them at the age of 60. I’m 72 now and I get a little angry because they were so good, out danced every one and so we were robbed of enjoying them. No one back then or now can out perform them.

The Nicholas Bros are so badass. Very few performers whose routines I can watch over and over and over again, except the Nicholas Bros. Cab Calloway makes an appearance and he's also a badass! Hep! Hep!! I love that Harold punked Gene Kelly. 😀😀

They were the best I’ve seen. The first routine was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Of Course, they didn’t get the credit they deserved. They primarily gave all that to Fred Astaire and the like!!

Hammer didn't do his homework. The brothers could sing.Keep it real, Nothin is original, everything repeats it self, It only gets better with each generation of entertainers,Being on of the icons of street dancin here in Philly, Proud to say young bloods, Like The Twins, have taken it to the text level.💪👑💪👑💪👑
