On reaching level 20, the game loops around the last four characters (Mexicans, Gun slingers, Bandits or Hill Billies).
Recorded using "rollback", a feature of the emulator which allows you to mark a point, which you can then roll back to later if you get in trouble, and try again. More info. on the channel "About" page: / rzxarchive

Amazing game from my childhood. I was playing it on 1989 in USSR, the cost to play was 0.15 Rubles per 1 minute (about 15 us cents in that time)
It's amazing what can be achieved in 25 years if you have the technology, from this in 1985 to Red Dead Redemption in 2010.

i hope the vr gear gets affordable
We get graphics but games get shallow and AI is laughtable...

Моя одна из любимых игр !!! В 1991 году ZX Spectrum магнитофон Романтик 306 и черно-белый ламповый телевизор Каскад !! Летние каникулы друзья еще Down Earth и Livingstone и мн. др. игр
Down To Earth офигенная игра, у нее еще звуки загрузки с ленты в начале забавные были :)

Какие далёкие 1980... даже в Ленинграде они массово начали появляться только в начале 90х, у меня знакомый их собирал. А до этого были всякие БК 0010 и Микроши и игры с символьной графикой.

И кассетный магнитофон Radiotechnika c выдвижным лотком для кассеты.Два телевизора цветных с перепаянными входами RGB.А вы говорите что в самом Ленинграде(который более крупнее в отличие от Керчи!) вы увидели в начале 90-х.Да,вы что-то пропустили...
Video games had far more variety back in the 1980s. And you had to as a video gamer, do things like take your own notes of where items where in some games and even make your own level maps. Was get fun to be a video gamer during the golden age of video games.

Wow, I loved this game. This and Impossible Mission from Epyx Games were the first games I ever bought for the Spectrum. Ultimate never made a single bad game for 8 bit home computers.

We've spent hours and hours trying to achieve a good score on this game back in 80's with my friend using his ZX Spectrum Plus. So difficult! I was always wondering how does it end... is there a final boss or something... Thanks for clarifying it to me after some 35 years 😄 I guess you wouldn't be able to get that far with old days joystick. But anyway - Thanks for the upload.

First of all: Was this normal speed of playing? My game went far slower. And second thing: Why don´t you use the horse?
Yes, this was done at normal speed (in an emulator). Should run at about the same speed on a real speccy, I don't remember it going slow back in the day. I did use the horse occasionally, but probably avoided it when I was trying to look for the baddie, as you move about too fast on it.
This game was really fast on Spectrum!
Why not use the horse to move?

@@UKCougar, so am I. I didn't have many games on my ZX, didn't see this one. Now I am MSX owner with tons of games, but not enough time to play them.

A mate had an MSX back in the day. Used to love Penguin Adventure.

Кто-нить помнит игру - суть такова@
от первого лица т.е. сидишь в кабине, сбиваешь корабли + можно в космосе сбивать, а можно над планетой (они по-моему бомбы на планету сбрасывают и станции на ней взрывают - подорвут все, потеряешь планету). В космосе можно натыкаться на эскадры кораблей и в конце биться с боссом - большим кораблем.
Собственно нужно все эскадры уничтожить и при этом планете все не потерять.
как-то или space чего-там или rangers или как-то так называлась

That's the only way the game made sense to me as a kid.

And that was the end of ultimate on the speccy.
It's on Rare Replay. About to give it a go. My expectations aren't exactly high but these other Spectrum games have at least been decent time waster except for Underwurlde. Gawd I hate that game so much and whoever programmed the jumping mechanics for that game needs to be punished.
