Polly if I were you if I was making strips I would first fold a paper and a half use the ruler to draw the line and then cut it out and then open the paper back up and then I have two strips and then I would but if I was making 4strips then I would draw one line and then fold that line and then cut it out
The idea is that the paper spring that is glued to the box is folded more than it wants to be so by releasing what’s holding it down it will spring up by itself
Maybe it didn’t work with you because you folded the “yellow” papers too much, I think ur supposed to fold them slightly and not press too hard on them!!
