    Ha...Michael, you are in a country (S.Korea) were altering their parts of their faces to look more western is so rampant, that it is almost perceived as "normal", yes please mentor the kids there and encourage them to be better looking inside than outside, that people don't stop being human beings simply because they are heavier or have darker skin or that they came from a poor country....this also goes to everyone who think they are better that they can look down on anyone they perceive as inferior by virtue of their circumstances etc.

      I just could’ve gone without acknowledging your comment but as a Korean, I decided to say few words. And before I say anything, I want to preface that what may seem to be lack of information or knowledge in my words strictly belongs to myself, not the all Koreans or my country. I’m not trying to represent my people or my country in any case, but I’m defending my pride as a Korean. I am offended by the series of miss chosen words of yours which caused a lot of errors in your tone of an argument. First of all, I am not sure of your nationality and therefore will I only guess that you’re not Korean. With that assumption, I’m curious who you think you are to speak for another nation as if that’s all about them. And yet, the video clip you’re arguing at is Korean American actor talking about his career in Korea.

    • @AmySChoi-iu4iw
      @AmySChoi-iu4iw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, what you have spoken may be partially right as to the point where some Koreans would get some job done on their faces and/or invest on the value of beauty. However your word choice for that was “altering parts of face” and “to look more western” which is embarrassingly hilarious, going way too far. I wouldn’t mention of patients who can be helped with plastic surgery for medical attention. But even for others who CHOOSE to get such surgeries, they are not hoping to “look western”. Lol, I mean, hey. What’s the western? You meant the white? You may want to believe that the white is in the center of beauty or something, but please go on any social media platform and look what they are doing. The white people are making their skin colour tanned, making big on their lips, and trying to get overly voluptuous body shape with those fillers and stuff. Will you say that they are doing so to look “more” western because they are not western enough? Or would you say that they are admiring natural look of the black people? My point is that there is beauty trends going around and it is a combination of everything, not the particular nation. I am Korean and I did not get any job done and I have many friends who are like me. I also do have other friends who have experienced it. The beauty production is huge market itself and is expanding its size. You wouldn’t say it is only thanks to Koreans. It exists all over the world and it is not particularly a problem of Koreans/Korea.

    • @AmySChoi-iu4iw
      @AmySChoi-iu4iw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That goes the same to your point of views about ethics of Koreans too. I am truly sorry that you have experienced whether directly or indirectly, the people who don’t appreciate the inner beauty. For the people who look down on you or somebody because they are less fortunate or from developing countries. And yet you believe the world of yours is the whole part of the world. I sincerely hope that someday you will be made up for your unhappy experience by interacting with good Koreans. And of course, you are aware of the people? If they are good, they are just good people and that’s the end of story. It does not automatically go that the whole nation becomes good because of the one particular good person. I have experienced so many unspeakable people myself, who are mean, disrespectful, and prejudiced but I don’t judge the whole nation for that one bad person. No matter of how large the number is. It’s just logic. I don’t get to meet enough number of people to compile statistics of one nation. I am happy to know that we as humanity have a brighter future for ourselves with that healthy, constructive mind of yours. How you treat the beauty inside someone and how you would treat others equally under any conditions. With all that, I’m only hoping, you must know that you are not in the position of telling Michael or no one that what they have experienced and felt is in any way wrong. Also you are not the only one special person to see through everything. If you have something bad to talk about somebody, you better have more reasonable thoughts. I am Korean and I have never lived my life to be pointed at by your inconsiderate, predetermining comment.

    • @AmySChoi-iu4iw
      @AmySChoi-iu4iw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As Korean, I don’t need you asking Michael “mentor” us or our kids to whatsoever. In your words, Michael here is perceived as an outsider, with his background of being grew up in the states and therefore somehow he is able to look upon us, Koreans to teach us some lesson on “how to live life more wisely”. Meanwhile, Michael is Korean American and Korean fans all know that he identifies himself as an American and we respect that. Which means, if he would like to call him as a Korean, we would also love him for that and embrace him for who he think he is. Since we support him for his amazing talent, warm hearted character, and a loving soul regardless of his nationality. Back to your words, we Koreans are aware of the box that we are in, and all the other social matters and stuff. I clarify here that the problems we owe can be our specific but all the left are generously known matters that all humanity shares. Nonetheless, relatively younger generation where I think as myself included and active generation of Korea are evolving ourselves and moving forward. Thanks to that, the movement is only getting louder and powerful. As a next leading generation of Korea, we will keep working for the better world with “no one left behind”. I am normally open to the opinions and things but it was something I couldn’t resist. I hope you could realise that your comment is over the line and disrespectful to Koreans and Korea.
