Another AI politician who can't and will not answer a question never had a job outside politics . Well Lisa you need to go back to Holly cross collage and retrain to do something what suits you better!
The supermarkets profits are up by 100% . The farmers are being paid minimum wage . The farmers can't afford to run there farms and produce there food affordable for the nation. Farmers deserve better. We support the Farmers 🚜❤️🚜❤️🚜❤️
Business's, any business's are not assets that can be easily bought and sold to pay tax and if you try, the idea of the family business will die be it after 1 generation or a few. Business are what creates wealth and they need to both carry on and ideally grow for the sake of the country (and this is why they were exempt in the first place) but they won't if they fail to zero every after a couple of generations. All this tax will do on farms is drive small farms to sell to big investors, exactly the so called target the government wants to hit..... but they don't have the issue because they will be couched in overseas companies that don't die so don't pay IHT. I heard earlier somebody say the government is behaving like student politicians. I disagree, I think they are behaving like politics students.
@@dapfordvondappington8306 It's not the size in my view that matters. It is whether the farm is run by the owners living on site or not. i.e. is it a vocation or an investment.
@ But you are the one that said small families farms are at risk. So is a farm valued at 3 million a small farm? For the record, if it is a working family owned farm that provides food for the UK I am happy for it to be tax exempt.
@ I wouldn't know, I'm not a farmer but someone that knows more than most about IHT and why it was the way it was. As for 3M, depends where the farm is, what it does, any animals and the machinery it needs to operate. It isn't just the land. As I said though, the change is just as serious for other businesses whose shares aren't quoted, the business is likely fragile already due to the death of a major contributor. The whole thing is the act of a chancellor that knows sod all about a business to keep the farming term.
Buy from farmers' markets. Boycott and starve giant supermarkets. Tesco is making billions of pounds. ridiculous. (p.s. shareholder of Tesco earning hundreds of thousands for my third house)
1 big tractors tyre can cost between. 5 to 10k on a larger tractor, auto trader has a used large tractor (the one you see farmers using) it is up for 900k.... 900k!!!! A harvester for 600k is.... These are the used prices, not the shiny off the factory line prices... So 1 mill on land 1 to 2 mill on machines, plus all the other equipment, animals, tools, house, good forbid if they have any savings after putting themselves in an early grave to feed us..... So yeah 3 million is a bare faced cbeak and cope out. If the farm is being worked and handed down to family, it should be tax free unlimited, it must be worked for a minimum 5 years after being handed down for them to retain it being tax free status.
Farmers are a business, it's up to the business to set their prices. They also don't seem to understand there's more steps and cost involved after they sell their product and are shock|d tube end user pays more
Tories left Britain's economy in fiscal mess as they did in 1997 general election, I note largest land owners are not making great amount of fuss on this subject.
@Robert-cu9bm Incumbent government have to react in dealing with fiscal mess which Labour has inherited. If a wound is left open and not dealt with it will grow then turn septic. It's not a case of borrowing, more likely surbmountable task. The reality of Britain's problems dates back to early 1980s under Thatchers government, politicians from all sides of Parliament said then, future generations will suffer, true to their word.
3 million don’t buy you 4 bed with a paddock in the Cotswolds ffs 🤦♀️
Amazing how she can lie with a straight face
Saw her interview this morning she was so uncomfortable trying to answer the questions
The old “we’ve inherited” line is starting to wear thin.

Labour keep stating they've inherited this and that from The Conservatives,, when are they going to start paying inheritance tax?
Amateur politician

Two tier no idea keir
you would be better talking to a 9 month old baby
About time the Farmers targetted the supermarkets and not 10 Downing Street.
Its the these that are responsible for the high prices.
It's the government who's caused energy prices to rise, forcing all goods up
Farmers have to boycott

Is a farm worth more than 3 million still classed as a small farm?
Honest question from a city dweller with limited knowledge on rural affairs.

She's boring

Looks so guilty.

Happy to shun trump but too scared to retract it. Embarassing
