    I always enjoy that "imaginary shot" demonstration.
    On those cross-ice passes setting up a one-timer, I'm personally super guilty of sliding across the vast majority of the time, especially if it's below the hashmarks, whether it seems like a quality pass or otherwise. A bad habit that I'm trying to break.
    I really miss body-contact when guys try to cut across on those low angle net drives...

      you would have loved it back in the day with solid 6" pegs so the net DIDNT come off ever. Lol about the goalie's knees

    Another excellent video. I've been watching your series of videos daily for the last couple of weeks and finally got back on the ice last night after a week off due to covid restrictions in New Brunswick. With a gopro in the back of the net I'm now able to learn based all of the knowledge youve laid out and what I'm doing wrong (and right). Thank you!

      Goalies are 99% accurate on shot location when you try the invisible puck drill. Especially if the shooter can deliver a very realistic release.

    I am former semi pro player and now I play only for the funs with team of ex pro and semi pro players but also with people who are really not good. What I noticed is that whenever someone knows what he is doing (good player) is shooting at me I have an easier time making saves than when a guy who is absolutely horrid is shooting at me. I just can't read the shot

    • @FutureProGoaltendingUSA
      @FutureProGoaltendingUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I struggled with that when I was with the Canucks and came home to play summer shinny. If you are good at reading the game the higher levels can be done as they do things they should/ can. A bender doesn’t even know what they are supposed to do in a given situation and have inconsistent releases. This makes us look foolish at time because they are very hard to read.

    Always a good day when it starts with a new video from the Keeks. You talked about the mature and immature release but I always struggle with the premature. Gotta try to keep my mind on the knee drive instead of baseball.

    When I was playing juniors our coach had a drill where we played a zone with an imaginary puck. It was insane how we knew exactly where the puck was going including when I knew I was scored on... No idea whey we did this but I think we were all shocked at how well it worked... by the way the blocker side high shot hit me in the high shoulder...

    On the invisible puck drill, I heard Brodeur would practice with white pucks being shot at 90mph. Since his sight was hindered, I assume he would have had to read the shooter in order to have made a save, right?

    Well as a catch right goalie, my guesses were all wrong, when the goat said high glove side I had guessed high blocker side.
    And when he said low blocker side I was like no sir that’s low glove side. On the bright side I did guess the 5 hole one correctly.

    • @Clever01010
      @Clever01010 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe that's the key to making more saves in todays hockey. Going back to the 70's and staying on your feet. Obviously this knee thing doesn't work. Watch any game, they no longer use there stick. FIVE HOLE! HE SHOOTS HE SCORES! SHORT SIDE HE SCORES! UP OVER THE SHOLDER HE SCORES!!🤪 STAND UP!

      The game has changed and the players are more dynamic. There coming in from behind the net and pulling lacrosse shots top corner. Knowing that goalie is going to be on his knees. Shots from the blue line and by the time the puck gets there he's on his knees. They make 1 save rebound it's in the net do to the goalie not being able to get across because he's on his knees. It's become a bad reflex to just automatically fall to your knees in todays game. Back in the day games were (3-1) (4-2) In todays game (7-6) (8-6)🤔🙄😏 embarrassing!
