Ok now... LA SCELTA means the choice. There is always a choice, just one decision that can change your life. He talks about Beethoven, who wanted to be a composer and do his kind of music, while his father looked at him like just a source of income, and later he tells the story of Mark Hollis from Talk Talk, who decided to leave the stage to be with his family. Caparezza's got acufene, a ear disease where you costantly hear a whistle. It's like a torture, especially for a singer, he found his niche talking about serious themes (racism, anarchy, making choices etc) but through stories or with different layers to keep the meaning hidden. All this to say that his strong point are actually concerts, even in small towns he create a theatrical atmosfere (people coming out of tombs, etc)
"The choice" is a song where the sounds are mixed with classical ones and include some parts of Beethoven music and ""Such a Shame", Talk Talk's 80s hit, especially the sound that recalls an elephant trumpeting. Apart from the sound he sings about Beethoven called Ludovico and Marco, Talk Talk's singer, who both have chosen to different ways of living their lives: the first has become successful even if he was deaf and alone, the second gave up making music because he wanted to stay with his family instead of living far from them, travelling around the world. The message is that every choice is personal even if it seems "patetica" = pathetic or "eroica"= heroic, repeated a lot of times in the song. Good reaction as usual Ang, I would suggest his song "Vieni a ballare in Puglia" where he mixes rap with typical folkloric sound from Puglia, a masterpiece, you can't help but dancing to that. (Måneskin made a cover of it when they were very young th-cam.com/video/8OJBet8E_Oo/w-d-xo.html ).
Hi bro! I love this song… the lyrics is beautiful… Caparezza is a kind of genius, that is my pov, but he is always different of the other singer… and… he is a musician and good Italian rapper… try to find the lyrics because that are so good.
Latest's album of him are produced by himself. He always wanted to do that, but only at one point where his production where high quality enough to make the switch. The beat/instrumental itself on his songs are constructed around the song, that's why everything works flawless. Even back in the days, he always directed his instrumentals to accommodate him and the song. Anyway, i don't know what you prefer react as genre, but his songs as i already said in another comment, range from pop to metal (if we want). Even if that a rockish component is ofter there more that pop one's.
Caparezza is awesome, he is incredibly intelligent, cultured and sensitive. I really suggest you to listen to most of his discography and analyze carefully the lyrics, there is so much there that sometimes I find new refences and meanings after the 100th time listen to it.
caparezza usually do social criticism songs. The genius is how he does this because he actually camouflage this in happy songs but if you read the lyrics is a whole different expecience. Polistrumentista, tecnico del suono, produttore, coreografo, scenografo, regista, lui è "l'artista di sé stesso" artista a tutto tondo, lui è Caparezza!
The next song could be "Argenti vive", you'll love it and the story behind is amazing. It is about Filippo Argenti, a character of the 5th circle of Hell of Dante's Divine Comedy, who was Dante Alighieri's enemy
Every Caparezza song is a black hole of pop/geek/nerd culture reference. His songs are like puzzles that you have to listen multiple time to catch every single sentence, reference and linguistic nuances.
I saw Caparezza in a concert when I was 18 yo and he was at the beginning of 2000 I remember was very ironic and iconic at the same time... his song "un vero uomo deve lavare i piatti" and "abiura me" lyrics are so funny but serious at the same time. At last I want suggest you Francesco Gabbani "il sudore ci appiccica" , "occidentali's karma" and "la rete" he is a great songwriter as Caparezza. In glad of you reaction and your music taste. TVB
Yo dude, is a fan of Caparezza directly from Italy who talks LOL. I appreciate that u love him, so, listen to an old song "Abiura di me", you're gonna love it.
I m loving your reactions and i was hoping in some videos of your about caparezza. From the last album i suggest you two songs, but First you need to find a good translation. The first it s a pure rap rock song, "zeit!" (That mean "time" in german), in this song caparezza imagine to have a conversation with the time itself , and critics the collective wish to "stop the time", in fact he says literrally to the time " i never wondered that you will became an old one , look like all the rest of things". The second instead it s a slow ballad, "la certa" where Caparezza imagine the death itself come to him for saying some things, look like she isn't an evil or rogue Goddess, she is the one that gave meaning and sense to all of our decision and action, and she is the one who want to see all of us standing up, ready for playing our very own match. I m sure you will love both
I'm new in your community, I appreciate a lot your openess, so rare. I suggest you to listen Caparezza's "Exuvia", I won't make any spoiler my man. Keep goin', it's awesome see you react to different stuff, hope you'll post some of your songs too, I'm really curious (I guess you are a musician). Have a nice metal day!
Hi! I love the fact you appreciate good italian music, you chose teh good ones. You should react to Subsonica (electro rock band born in the 90's). Here some good song: 66 (feat Linea 77, another good metal band), L'odore, Preso blu, Lasciati, Coriandoli a Natale, Tutti i miei sbagli, Discolabirinto, Il cielo su Torino, Aurora sogna, Up Patriots to arms. Good listening!
Bravissimo Angelo! Caparezza is an incredibly intelligent artist, musical lyrics always cultured and in one piece he writes "my lexicon too forbidding". This is a great piece of music, but honestly all the 8 albums made in these 20 years are really good.
Di Caparezza ci sono molte canzoni belle dei suoi precedenti album, due in particolare sono "Vieni a ballare in Puglia" e "Una chiave", e uno del suo ultimo album invece "El Sendero"
Ehy, you should react to "La fitta sassaiola dell'ingiuria", a song of Capa feat. Angelo Branduardi, one of the greatest italian author of 70-80's. Its like a hell rap with the classic italian music.
I advise you to react to the song "Non Siete Stato Voi", probably the deepest and heaviest he has ever written, and one of my favorites. However, you need to read the translated lyrics: you could not fully understand the song's essence without understanding what is he saying.
Thanks. Furthermore, I would like you to react to (a lot of) other artists in my opinion very interesting of the Italian music scene: Quintorigo, a very, very, particular and innovative band, with a unique style; Mudimbi, a highly underrated rapper / songwriter who has done a lot of interesting things; Bluvertigo, another very curious band; Giuni Russo, one of the craziest pop singers I've ever heard; Uochi Toki, probably the most absurd trio we have in Italy; Iosonouncane, who makes disturbing music, bordering on madness; Rancore, one of the best local rappers; Eugenio in Via Di Gioia, Madame, Prozac+, Levante, exc... (the list may still be very long). They are almost all very, very particular and niche artists (except Madame, perhaps), and if you don't like their genre I can't help it: I simply try to recommend them, because in my opinion they deserve a lot of respect. Obviously I would also like to recommend many others, such as Franco Battiato, CCCP, Guccini, Rino Gaetano etc... But I know that you have already made a reaction of them, and therefore this makes no sense.
As others said, to fully appreciate Caparezza one should understand the lyrics, but yeah, this song hit hard. I liked your song too, very felt lyrics, warm atmosphere, I really enjoyed it. Sorry for the choppy english!
If you like this, you should listen to "Zeit" from the same album. it's a song about time and have an incredible rock sound, I Just love It. (I'm italian girl learning english, Sorry for mistakes)
you HAVE TO react to vieni a ballare in puglia, come to dance in puglia (puglia is a very poor, with mafia region in the extreme south of italy). and check the translated lyrics, but without knowing italian and the context isn't the same
I do like most the songs on Caparezza's last album - La Scelta is a real hit while Fugada and Contronatura sounds very dark rap experimental to me (more underground but very interesting stuff)... Since you've done a lot of Maneskin's stuff; do you know they made a cover of a song from Caparezza? It's called "Io Vengo Dalla Luna" - worth checking both original and cover.
I'm so happy you're covering more Caparezza although without context his songs lose a lot of meaning. La scelta (the choice) is about Caparezza's choice whether to retire because of some hearing problems (and being with his family) or to keep going with his music career. He seems to choose to leave the stage because "my family is more important than a bunch of chords" and also because of his disability. The chorus is a direct answer to those who ask him if he's happy with his choice, yes he is, and he puns with the famous Beethoven op "Patetica" and "Eroica" (patetic and heroic in italian) referring to the choice he made and the way it's seen by his fans
It's false that he decided to leave the stage or that this song is about he deciding. It's just about the possibilities, not about a decision. That's also why the video is weirdly symmetrical: he does one thing and its opposite and the result of each action is different (if you don't pay the street artist he will not be there; ecc). It has also been asked many times in interviews whether he has decided or not and he always says he still has to.
In ogni caso, ho chiarito meglio.
Nice song. I'm talking about yours. Strong 90s vibes, which i like. But i think the second voice was a bit too intrusive (when he sings "i miss them days" and such). That boyband-ish back and forth between the two voices takes away some magic. Still a good song, though.
Caparezza without understanding lyrics is not a fully experience

And in the end he says he's satisfied with his choice, no remorse and no regrets.

Please react to "Argenti Vive" by Caparezza, it's an amazing song (basically is a rap/metal song)
Oh yes, it would be great. "Il sogno eretico", "Prosopagnosia" and "Non siete stato voi" too
I absolutely agree with both comments, and I'd actually add Prisoner 709 (from the same album as Prosopagnosia) to remain in that metal theme ;)

Straordinaria canzone, anzi straordinario il testo ed il messaggio di fondo.👏
Listen EL SENDERO BY Caparezza
You can find a great list of italian singers in the song "domani" artisti uniti per l'Abruzzo
You should listen ARGENTI VIVE by Caparezza. I think you'd love it!
The lyrics are sooo Genius!
And now Angel, Caparezza feat il teatro degli orrori " cuore d'oceano " 😘
Living for the Moment: I agree! Well done!
Caparezza is fenomenal a genius and I love your song bro! great voice!
your songs are always good !
Bravissimo Angelo! Caparezza is an incredibly intelligent artist, musical lyrics always cultured and in one piece he writes "my lexicon too forbidding". This is a great piece of music, but honestly all the 8 albums made in these 20 years are really good.
Di Caparezza ci sono molte canzoni belle dei suoi precedenti album, due in particolare sono "Vieni a ballare in Puglia" e "Una chiave", e uno del suo ultimo album invece "El Sendero"
i wish i didn't know caparezza already to discover him all over again and you should take advantage of that
Bellissimo il tuo pezzo!🥰🤟🎸🎼🌈🍀
Ehy, you should react to "La fitta sassaiola dell'ingiuria", a song of Capa feat. Angelo Branduardi, one of the greatest italian author of 70-80's. Its like a hell rap with the classic italian music.
Great song... Great reaction!
Nice your song Ang! 😎💪🔝
The best Italian rapper, Caparezza
You must react ti CAPAREZZA DALLA PARTE DEL TORO hispanic ritm italian Rock and rap
Your song is 🔥🔥, man. Congrats
you HAVE TO react to vieni a ballare in puglia, come to dance in puglia (puglia is a very poor, with mafia region in the extreme south of italy). and check the translated lyrics, but without knowing italian and the context isn't the same
Another famous rapper in Italy is Fabri Fibra, -Tranne Te e Te ft. Dargen D'Amico, Marracash - and many others.
Caparezza fantasticoooooo!💝🥰🌹
Caparezza genio😝🖤!!!
Listen to "Argenti Vive" by Caparezza. Metal rap. You won't believe how good it is
I do like most the songs on Caparezza's last album - La Scelta is a real hit while Fugada and Contronatura sounds very dark rap experimental to me (more underground but very interesting stuff)...
Since you've done a lot of Maneskin's stuff; do you know they made a cover of a song from Caparezza? It's called "Io Vengo Dalla Luna" - worth checking both original and cover.
You could also listen to "ti fa stare bene"
Hi Ang! Listen to Prosopagnosia or Il Tuo Sogno Eretico... they are always Caparezza 👍
Like your sound Ang!
Correct pron: Scelta=> "shell-ta"
Grazie Mad ANg👍🏽
Caparezza is a fucking genius
yes he knows how to play the piano of course
u need to look 4 the lyric translations, he is a modern De Andrè (btw piano and rap u can find in Guru's Jazzmataz) ;)
Di Caparezza , devi ascoltare "Chinatown". Ciao
This song is fantastic!! Funny and inspired! 😄🔝
Man if you wanna hear an italian rapper singing and playng the piano look for Lazza - re Mida (piano solo)
Listen: Caparezza "Prisoner 709"
Caparezza 👏👏❤️
Caparezza sempre il top!!!!❤
He plays different styles. I like all his songs. I suggest an old one "Torna catalessi"
Caparezza ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice video! Please analyze "argenti vive" it as a rap metal Song, it talks about divine comedy
In my opinion you should listen to Caparezza "Argenti Vive"
Please react to Abiura di Me, is a fantastic song by Capa
Angelo! 👍🔥😍
Argenti Vive by Caparezza it's fantastic
Bipedal primate . Love your songs❤️
Listen "sono un eroe"
I really love your reacts
Ciao Mad sono sempre io dall'italia che ti seguo e ti scrivo, ti consiglio di fare react di Alex Britti grande chitarrista e cantante. Ciaooooooooo😎🥂
Nice song. I'm talking about yours.
Strong 90s vibes, which i like.
But i think the second voice was a bit too intrusive (when he sings "i miss them days" and such). That boyband-ish back and forth between the two voices takes away some magic. Still a good song, though.
Hi, friend! Why don’t you try listening to “Io vengo dalla luna” by Caparezza?
