- Anyone aiming for performance must invest the necessary energy to achieve their goals. Such is the price, paid in full by the Richard Mille teams who decided a few years ago to take on the thickness challenge in watchmaking. After dozens of prototypes and thousands of hours in R&D and laboratory testing, the 1.75 mm-thick RM UP-01 Ferrari is here to prove that the end result was worth the blood, sweat and tears it took to shave off the last few millimetres.

Exactly. You have to count the tool width.
It can. It was normal to wind watches with separate tools back in the day. These also counted as "normal" watches so this approach is very traditional.

@Andrea Giongiani, they’re about the same, but the G-Shock comes with college, a house paid in full, some stocks, and we’ll forgo the other items in the showcase and get the balance in a gift certificate.
