same here
Let me be the first to say that I can't wait for a collaboration between John Mayer and Mary Spender. I'm pretty sure that's gonna happen one day in the near future
I'm excited to see John's version of your song Mary😅
With an excellent version of his own song, might I add! Big fan, Mary.
oh "USE ME" yea, oh "LAST TRAIN HOME" yeah lol... teehee....
I was very lucky to see him live in Amsterdam before the pandemic, we are lucky to be from the same generation with John Mayer LEGEND
@@thijshalsema7513 me too
duude I was there too, what a blast
Ah me too! Fantastic gig!
Hahaha ahlan wa sahlan Yassine 🇲🇦
Yeah me too, lucky to see him live in Jakarta before pandemic !!!
Going thru a real rough patch with my gf, probably gon be done soon. John Mayer's music deff gives me a clarity & understanding. Thank you
done with the rough patch or relationship?
When this guy makes a song about trains, you know it will be good.
Imo Stop This Train is better. But I'm a sucker for sad songs
@@xyladee9401 it's a sad song but you can learn from it. It's one of my favourites aswell.
LOOOOL ahaha bro
or home for that matter :P
@@xyladee9401 Stop this train is his best song imo
Toto has definitely inspired their song "Africa" on this one
Scrolled the comments looking for this
100% accurate!!
More so Eric Claptons journeyman album I’d say. Almost identical to his
Haha that's right!
same
We need more John Mayers in this world. And more 80s music too.
thanks for your love and support indeed you are a true fan. you can write to me on #mayerj262@gmail.com#
Yea like i need herpes in my life. Its a reason why theres 80s music.CAUSE ITS IN THE 80S
This is quite possibly the best thing to happen to this world ever
The man's got style. Does whatever he wants and makes it look easy.
th-cam.com/video/so4NRN3I_2I/w-d-xo.html
I'll just leave this here
There will be yachts.
There will never be another John Mayer. Always a privilege to hear a new song of his...
80's-era Clapton, Bruce Hornsby, Steve Winwood, and Toto. All in one new song. Color me impressed. I'll be listening to this about 50 more times
Steve Winwood is still pissed he didn't write this
i'm pretty sure the keys player & percussionist are from toto . . .
Ya
Well said.
Not my favorite but this song is composed so well in a musical standpoint, it’s in my top ten. Vocals and solo are perfect.
Just heard this for the first time and thought it was an 80s track I never heard growing up. Absolutely class tune.
John have come to terms that he can’t “stop this train”, so he’s running for it.
Lol😂
I’m on the train right now
Wow, that’s actually deep
This should be top comment
@@TheMarcel1702 Well you can say that I was in a deep train of thoughts 😂
When there's both "Home" and "Train" in his songs, expect it to do something to you
Nuff said!
Hahahahhaa this is scarily accurate
Home life and stop this train
Roll It On Home got me 💓💓💓
me thinking of Stop This Traib
Train*
John Mayer interpreting the 80s in his own beautiful way is all that the world needed. JM, you absolute fucking legend!
WOW! REAL MUSIC IS BORN AGAIN!
Sobbing
Good to see you here man :) Super excited for July!
Sob rocking?
Make this a Minecraft CD.
... while rocking
Hey wattles how are ya doin!!
Love how this song and Carry Me Away have the same line: “...and I surrender”. Big mood.
He's not chasing anymore. He's come to maturity.
Yeah heard that before when he was dating Katy Perry. The tiger cannot cannot change his stripes - John will always be chasing the next lady
John has given June a new meaning to me, I hated this month so much since I was in a car accident on June 3rd 2015 had to start all over again with my life. Grateful to be alive in a time like this, John is that light at the end of the tunnel!! ❤️
Glad you survived and are still here to enjoy John’s amazing music. 💜😊
Glad you are doing okay, man. Keep it up!
He’s the new light at the end of the tunnel….
“So much sacred in the month of June...” 🙏🏼🙏🏼 glad you are still here with us to enjoy this 🌹 🌹
So sorry, and today is the anniversary. But John does make everything better.
That song is magic, the melody, the lyrics , Maren Morris. back up vocal, just perfection !
I love it... So much that I already covered it!!! 🖤🎵
His songwritting aged like a fine wine..... It's only gonna get better.
Nope sry...this is only gonna get worse.
Look at his older works lmfao this is dogshit compared to them bro
@@Saheel-p9b Been a fan since Room for squares ... His song writing has evolved and i think we should accept the fact that he is not the same john we all fell in love with as teens but i personaly feel that his recent records are more honest and easy to listen to. My favourite album is Room for squares.
@@smart_for_a_retard Don't mind me bro.. I love anything John Mayer.
@@amos8572 that being said I could not listen to this for more than 14 secs. We loved John Mayer for songwriting and structure pop is not John Mayer I'm out.
I'm Toto-ly in love with this tune!
When you dig the sound so much you hire the entire original musicians to record your song :P
Toto-ly agree
very toto-ish of him
I don’t recognize any of the musicians here as members of Toto?
i see what you did there 👀
@@Herfinnur Toto’s percussionist Lenny Castro, and keyboardist Greg Phillinganes both make appearances
TOTAL '80's vibe!!!! Keyboard is like Toto and Genesis. Great song, regardless!!!! Really great song!!!! Can't get it out of my head!!!!😂😂🎉🎉
This is what musicians should aspire to be. Constantly evolving your sound, stay open to learning, helping younger talent along the way. The man is just a real music lover at heart, there is nothing else he'd rather do.
th-cam.com/video/so4NRN3I_2I/w-d-xo.html
Case in point
This guy is one of, if not, the most versatile singer/songwriter/guitarist of not only our time, but ever!
He is trash. You’re description fits Prince
This throw back to the 80’s is literally better than the 80’s. Good for you John good for you
It’s like Phil Collins Genesis with Clapton playing lead guitar. Absolutely brilliant
What a song we have on our hands! Hoping there is more of this, wherever it came from!
definitely
The 80s?
See my remark: that's were it came from..
John Mayer made this. That’s where it came from. And he’s ripping Toto off
@@TheLunarSurface lmao this isn't ripping toto off at all.
Literally crying, I missed John Mayer so much and to have MAREN FREAKING MORRIS make an appearance as another one of my favorites...this is the birthday wish I was wanting😭🙏
Happy birthday! 🤗🎂💕
Happy birthdaaay
Happy Birthday!! Woooooop woooop!
Hello Thanks for your comment and supports, your comments and constant support has brought me this far. Keep Supporting
I love this song so much I reharmonized it 2 months ago!
Started singing Mary’s lyrics as the song started going on 😂
And I come here because of your video :D
So much fun watching yours and Mary's original!
Love this song, but Mary's and Adam's version predicted a key change that Mayer didn't use. Colour me slightly disappointed.
This needs to be top comment
J.Mayer - didn't play (or has he now - lass) "God bless the rains down in Africa 🌍"
Hello Kate, I hope you are doing well? It’s really nice meeting you here.
such an amazing song, so excited to live in this john mayer era
Been living there since 20 years 😍
Absolutely loved it! This is so Toto, and the fact that Greg Phillanges and Lenny Castro, both of whom have played with Toto are there as well, makes it even more special. This is going on loop!
If you ask me, the best part of the video is John's little shrug as he says "I put my heart where it don't belong." Like he knows it hasn't ended well in the past, but he's still trying. Amazing lyric. Love this song.
what an awesome catch.
@@imjusthereforthefood8156 🙏👀
Estou viciada nessa música! Obrigada, The Bear
Inevitable 80s vibes when you have Greg Phillinganes on keys and Lenny Castro on percussion and both played with Toto haha 🤩
That makes it OFFICIAL official!!! 🔥
Edit: I think I also spotted Don Was in there!!!
It’s 7am, I’m waking up next to a pool, a rising sun, Johnny’s new single, and an empty bottle of wine. Life’s great.
Comment of the year
Full bottle would be preferable
Grab another bottle and press repeat 😂
John Mayer is the most versatile artist today. Getting some real Genesis/Phil Collins vibes from this.
Also exactly the same arrangements as Africa from Toto, and a bit of Back to the Future for the music video concept hahha
Don't get me wrong because i love JM but this sounds like a weak, bland imitation of Toto or Phil Collins.
@@willritter4076 to be fair, 2 members of Toto are in this song
Hahahahaha
This song has vibes of Africa by Toto.
I take this opportunity to thank God for sending John in our times !
