Umm BBC once again shows it ignorance. The theme tune is from "father ted" a sitcom back in the 90s and has nothing to do with Scotland. I AM so happy I have never paid one single penny towards the BBC.

Very amusing. Of course he is also eligible for a German passport on his father's side. His family comes from a village in the Rheinland-Pfalz area. Interestingly, the Heinz (baked beans) family likewise come from the same village in Germany. In reality he has little in common with either the Scottish or German side of his family. Where its appropriate he plays up to his roots for political reasons. But in reality, as Americans say "I am quarter German, a quarter Irish, a quarter English and a quarter Italian - but 100% American!
