I assembled it mounted to my hitch, it seemed easier that way but the instructions dont mention it so there may be unforeseen issues if you do it this way so I'd suggest following manual.
The two bikes have the biggest range in tires/wheel size I have which were 29er 2.2" (700x55c) and a fractional 26" roadie - rack adjusts to hold both fine.
Very happy with it, very little wobble when driving, easy on/off and keeps the bikes from getting damaged. Locking hitch and arms (also locking) are nice too.

It will easily manage that. Just be sure to tighten the bolt that attaches the hitch to the receiver on your car - Even if that loosens it wont come off, but stops rattle so best if it stays tight. Also make sure the velcro straps are secure and the wheel holders are the proper distance so the wheels are in them fully. I drive my 2 steel frame mountain bikes about 100 miles one way most weekends and its done that without a problem since I bought it.

got one similar for by very heavy Ebike. can carry only one bike easy without battery on. shakes like crazy on potted roads. but does the job for less.

A good bike rack
ps. heavy Ebikes with wide tires hold best on U loops on both tires. secure with a velcro strap on each tire to U loop to avoid bounce. heavy bike carriers do better with a 2 inch hitch if possible.

I have purchased this rack. I have a 2 inch hitch receiver and must use the black adapter sent with the rack. This black adapter has three holes but the actual gray ( mine is gray ) metal horizontal insert bar of the rack itself only has one hole with obvious screw threads for the bolt. Which hole of the three choices on the black adapter do I line up with the one hole of the gray metal rack insert? And there is only one hole through my actual DrawTight hitch.

I take it you can't remove it from the hitch without using a tool? Guess I'd have to keep one in my car to do that.
Yeah, you need a wrench, it at least keeps it tight for less shake.
