I’m a Nordy girl too and I’m so sad that there’s not much in the stores anymore. It used to be part of the experience of Nordstrom , seeing and trying on such great things. Especially bringing my daughters with me. It was like a day out! Shopping online is so boring compared to that and it feels more time consuming because you have to read all of the comments on fit and fabric. I guess I’m just old school. 😂

I mostly wear summer dresses but not the long ones they are showing this year. Knee length. Don’t beat yourself up! Must of those clothes would look frumpy on anyone. I grew up on Nordstrom’s. When I did office work often spent my whole paycheck on clothes and shoes. Nobody dresses up anymore. Especially not in Southern California because all our money is going on gas! I would like to see you do a banana republic try on. Pricey yes; but maybe worth getting just two or three special items? Can you tell me how you clean linen joggers? Do they wrinkle? Those looked nice.
I throw the linen joggers in the washer and dryer. Of course they wrinkle, but if you pull them right out of the dryer when they're done it's not too bad. I am hoping they get their sh*t together for the Anniversary Sale-I'm still a fan of a lot of their basics. But you're right, Banana Republic is really stepping it up!
Girl, I could totally empathize with you around 10:30. I was in denial about my weight gain and size for nearly a year. Wearing clothes that were too tight was more stressful than I realized.

Great post. I love Nordstrom, when I go to Boston once a month I always go to one of the local stores and see what I can find. Unfortunately there is not one close to me where I live in Florida. Their return policy is easy, which helps since the stores are pretty empty.
White jean hot tip: since I receive free tailoring at Nordstrom’s in the past I have had pockets removed and the area sewn shut but also recently I had the pocket removed and replaced with nude colored fabric, which didn’t show through and I still had pockets!
The color of blue in the first 2 tops set off your eyes, hair, coloring in general so well! The linen joggers looked so flattering but comfy. I’m so jealous of your sandals. Living in Illinois we are finally starting to get springlike temps so I need to get a pedicure. 😆
I just picked up a gauzy long sleeve button down at Marshall's. I sized up - a lot (like 3 sizes) and I plan to use it as a Swimsuit cover up. I'm not totally averse to being in the sun, but I do try to limit it. So when I'm not in the water, I want more coverage on my upper body (shoulders!) than most coverups provide.

Hi! I found some really really comfortable joggers at Sam’s for 14.99. They are called Travel Joggers and have a great feel like no clothes on but aren’t really thin and flimsy. Also, they aren’t that long, so they are good for short people.
Quality and styles (quantity also) have gone down since pandemic. And prices up! I don't thrift much but starting to think that is the best option these days!😊👍
You didn’t get the blouse! Lol But I absolutely understand not having a spring for something like that; same issue here in TN. Anyhoo, I think I suggested it the last time you mentioned the white jeans problem? If not, I *highly* recommend the Crown & Ivy jeans (blue, colors and white) at Belk!! I have straights and skinnies, and they fit like a dream, wear for years, and no pocket show-through.
I don’t understand why stores think having more options online is better than in store. I am not overweight but I do have some fat here and there and I prefer trying clothes in store than having to go thru hundreds of item’s and having to return them all. Im sure I’m not alone on this.

I fear that in 20 years there will be no more actual stores. I live in New Jersey and almost all the malls are 50% or more vacant. It makes me sad because I like to see and try things on in person.😢
I’m tall (and have above average feet) so I’ve been buying almost exclusively online for over a decade. Shopping in person has only ever barely existed for me.
I’ve always loved Nordstrom, but took a break due to a surprising terrible customer service experience a few years ago. I’ve now bought a few things in the past year, but only online. I’m being looking at the gauze shirt so thanks for trying it on! Great video as always!
Sizing has gotten to be so arbitrary. I recently got a pair of Denzen jeans at Target in size 4. When I got home, I realized I already had almost identical jeans, same brand, from last year and those are an 8. Both fit me the same!
I bought a white button down shirt three years ago, size M , at Target, the exact same one is now XS, I measured. Same shirt $69 Nordstrom, same shirt Banana Republic $99, Target was $29, all cotton. Wow!
The vanity sizing is so confusing. I am a "true" size 4 (based on sizing few years back), but now that's a 2 or even a 0 in some brands. I know I am not a 2/0 , a gal who is 100lbs or under is that size. There's no need for manufacturers to make me feel better about myself or encourage me to buy their merchandise by lowering sizing numbers. Just stay consistent

I would like to add a pair of dressier joggers to my wardrobe. I am also in between sizes of small & medium for the viuori joggers so I went with the medium and love them since they are so comfy.

Nordstrom was my employer in college and it PAINS me to see how they’ve gone downhill. I think the quality of their clothing has suffered, as has their in-store customer service, which I’ve experienced firsthand. I know they’ve changed hands several years and I think their “vision” has changed considerably. Hasn’t been the same since the Nordstrom family controlled it.
I think since Covid customer service is way down everywhere. It’s hard to find people that want to work so businesses aren’t choosy about who work for them. Just my opinion. Many quality businesses now aren’t so any more.
I have such a hard time with white - and those pants are a perfect example of why. Between being able to see through the color, it just screams every single crease and seam. I agree with you on the shorts. I too an 5'4", but probably weigh 25 pounds more. I tend to buy the longer length to hide the thigh chub, when a shorter short would look better. The longer length also helps with the pulling up from chub rub. #6 on your Nordy wish list - the spaghetti strap dress. I'm not seeing spaghetti straps really at all anymore, and have a bunch of dresses I just moved to the giveaway pile because of that. Are they coming back? If so, I'll hold onto a couple them a bit longer.
I LOVE Nordstrom! It’s has a vibe all its own and I find it so relaxing to shop with a piano playing in the background. Please tell me they haven’t done away with the piano?! I love the v neck tops, but have a feeling they would all be too low cut for me. I am flat chested, however, they look great on you. The linen blouse was pretty and loved the black linen pants, they looked great on you. Shoes should definitely have their own budget! Do you mind me asking what your inseam is? I’m in the same boat, my Nordstrom is just empty. It’s sad. Anyhow the Vuori joggers are AMAZING and believe it or not they are great into the Texas heat. They do give/stretch so the 🐪 toe does go away. 😂 Try white denim from Kut from the Kloth or AG!!!! Both are great but I lean towards Kut!

Ever since the pandemic, the quality of fabric and style of Nordstrom "house brand" clothes have gone downhill. Many are Amazon quality and boring/matronly. The vanity sizing makes ordering clothes so confusing. Ive resorted to searching indy sites and specialty canadian and European sites.
I’m not sure I’d agree on quality but I agree it’s not the same overall. When people comment on my Walmart hauls that they can’t understand how I can shop there, I try to explain that the quality and options at Walmart are often better than what I can find at the higher priced retailers (like Nordstrom)!

I’m so glad that you said that Nordstrom is moving to online shopping. I went into one at The Woodlands Mall, when I visited my son a few months ago and there was hardly anything there.
Marnie you would be beautiful at any size! You and I are a very similar shape but I am only 5 feet tall. Hate wearing shorts or short skirts, always wanting to be a little thinner than I currently am. But you try things on and look lovely, so it inspires me to give it a whirl and stop thinking I can only look good/dress well when I am at my thinnest. Thanks keep up the great videos!
I am 5 feet too. It is so hard to find shorts and skirts! I found shorts that are more full like an a-line work well. Aline skirts tend to work better. A-line tends to slim my legs. Also keeping in the same color family for a top and bottoms with nude color shoe helps. Kudos to Marnie for coming out of her comfort zone!

Greetings from Vegas. So 2 thoughts: Nordstrom here used to have a pianist playing a grand piano, btw the shoe and cosmetic dept. He’s gone, and so is 80% of the merchandise. So sad. Since I like you so much and appreciate how helpful your content has been for me, I want to share with you that I don’t think it’s the mirror that’s causing what you don’t like in photos, it’s your posture and that’s an easy fix 😊. I say this with nothing but love, as a very posture-aware person. Google posterior pelvic tilt. You appear to tilt your pelvis forward. You’ll like the look much better once you correct it.
I’m with you on being disappointed in Nordstrom inventory especially when you need something very dressy…like mother of the bride dress. I wanted to try the dress on …so I didn’t want anything online!
I like 3, 5, and 6 for the clothing, don't care for the cut of the other items, and if it's 90 degrees already...you may not get a lot of use out of the jacket. Many of the shoes are similar to things that have been popular for awhile, but I do like 9, pretty and a bit unique.

@@MsGoldgirl Yes, online shopping ceased Thursday evening. Thankfully I was able to place an order. Brick and mortar stores will close in June. Hopefully we will be able to shop through Borderfree. That’s how it used to be before Nordstrom opened here in 2014.
It costs a lot to ship goods into Canada. It’s also hard to compete with established retail brands that are based in Canada. I’m sure other costs are higher too. If it’s not profitable, doesn’t make sense to keep putting money into it. Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond also couldn’t succeed in Canada. I’m not educated enough on the differences between our two countries as far as the retail sector goes but I wonder if there is something about the Canadian market that is not as welcoming to retailers. Whatever the reason, it’s still very sad.
I am in love with the first two blouses. Lily Claire and I are on the way to Nordstrom shortly for our mommy daughter Sunday shopping , and I am definitely looking for both 😂 😊

I am trying to improve my arms, but long way to go - today I even tried on a couple of blouses at Ann Taylor loft, pretty fabric, spring colors, but that same kind of arm sleeve length - no bueno. 😉 what I did order , some thing you had profiled I think last week was from Chicos, a really cute T-shirt with puffed sleeves that come mid arm length and it happened to be on sale for $29. Have you found a pair of linen joggers/pants that are more wrinkle resistant than most? I love my Caslon joggers but don’t reach for them as much because I hate steam/ironing.
I love some of the choices that you showed. Wide leg linen pants are in my bag and a top that you have on your wishlist. I love the 3/4 length sleeve. So thank you for showing some with that length. I'm with you on the shorts, l love the shorter ones but I'm getting to where I won't wear shorts any more. I like most of the pants you showed but I don't care for the bulky (or any) front ties at the waist. I have a small frame but tummy is getting too bulgy. 'Things' happen when you're 72! ☹ Don't forget that Nordstrom has alterations.
I've wondered about actual retail stores, there isn't a Nordstrom in Fort Worth anymore, at all, I have to drive to Dallas, that's not gonna happen often, so I order everything online. There's Nordstrom Racks, not even the same, I feel like Malls are fading out all together, unless it's more of an outdoor mall.
Malls are definitely not a good investment anymore. The overhead is so high and with e-commerce growing at an exponential rate, the only way to stay profitable is to adapt.

White jean hot tip: since I receive free tailoring at Nordstrom’s in the past I have had pockets removed and the area sewn shut but also recently I had the pocket removed and replaced with nude colored fabric, which didn’t show through and I still had pockets!
The color of blue in the first 2 tops set off your eyes, hair, coloring in general so well! The linen joggers looked so flattering but comfy. I’m so jealous of your sandals. Living in Illinois we are finally starting to get springlike temps so I need to get a pedicure. 😆
I just picked up a gauzy long sleeve button down at Marshall's. I sized up - a lot (like 3 sizes) and I plan to use it as a Swimsuit cover up. I'm not totally averse to being in the sun, but I do try to limit it. So when I'm not in the water, I want more coverage on my upper body (shoulders!) than most coverups provide.

Hi! I found some really really comfortable joggers at Sam’s for 14.99. They are called Travel Joggers and have a great feel like no clothes on but aren’t really thin and flimsy. Also, they aren’t that long, so they are good for short people.
Quality and styles (quantity also) have gone down since pandemic. And prices up! I don't thrift much but starting to think that is the best option these days!😊👍

Anyhoo, I think I suggested it the last time you mentioned the white jeans problem? If not, I *highly* recommend the Crown & Ivy jeans (blue, colors and white) at Belk!! I have straights and skinnies, and they fit like a dream, wear for years, and no pocket show-through.

I don’t understand why stores think having more options online is better than in store. I am not overweight but I do have some fat here and there and I prefer trying clothes in store than having to go thru hundreds of item’s and having to return them all. Im sure I’m not alone on this.

I’m tall (and have above average feet) so I’ve been buying almost exclusively online for over a decade. Shopping in person has only ever barely existed for me.

Sizing has gotten to be so arbitrary. I recently got a pair of Denzen jeans at Target in size 4. When I got home, I realized I already had almost identical jeans, same brand, from last year and those are an 8. Both fit me the same!
I bought a white button down shirt three years ago, size M , at Target, the exact same one is now XS, I measured.
Same shirt $69 Nordstrom, same shirt Banana Republic $99, Target was $29, all cotton. Wow!
The vanity sizing is so confusing. I am a "true" size 4 (based on sizing few years back), but now that's a 2 or even a 0 in some brands. I know I am not a 2/0 , a gal who is 100lbs or under is that size. There's no need for manufacturers to make me feel better about myself or encourage me to buy their merchandise by lowering sizing numbers. Just stay consistent

Great video! It is so helpful to see what works and doesn't work. Just wondering which cargo joggers you like better the BR ones or the Caslon? I would like to add a pair of dressier joggers to my wardrobe. I am also in between sizes of small & medium for the viuori joggers so I went with the medium and love them since they are so comfy.
I can't pick a favorite. The linen joggers are my preference for warm weather, the BRF joggers are my preference in general.

Nordstrom was my employer in college and it PAINS me to see how they’ve gone downhill. I think the quality of their clothing has suffered, as has their in-store customer service, which I’ve experienced firsthand. I know they’ve changed hands several years and I think their “vision” has changed considerably. Hasn’t been the same since the Nordstrom family controlled it.

I think since Covid customer service is way down everywhere. It’s hard to find people that want to work so businesses aren’t choosy about who work for them. Just my opinion. Many quality businesses now aren’t so any more.
They just announced all stores in Canada closing … so, something seems off.
I have such a hard time with white - and those pants are a perfect example of why. Between being able to see through the color, it just screams every single crease and seam. I agree with you on the shorts. I too an 5'4", but probably weigh 25 pounds more. I tend to buy the longer length to hide the thigh chub, when a shorter short would look better. The longer length also helps with the pulling up from chub rub.
#6 on your Nordy wish list - the spaghetti strap dress. I'm not seeing spaghetti straps really at all anymore, and have a bunch of dresses I just moved to the giveaway pile because of that. Are they coming back? If so, I'll hold onto a couple them a bit longer.
I LOVE Nordstrom! It’s has a vibe all its own and I find it so relaxing to shop with a piano playing in the background. Please tell me they haven’t done away with the piano?! I love the v neck tops, but have a feeling they would all be too low cut for me. I am flat chested, however, they look great on you. The linen blouse was pretty and loved the black linen pants, they looked great on you. Shoes should definitely have their own budget! Do you mind me asking what your inseam is? Ever since the pandemic, the quality of fabric and style of Nordstrom "house brand" clothes have gone downhill. Many are Amazon quality and boring/matronly. The vanity sizing makes ordering clothes so confusing. Ive resorted to searching indy sites and specialty canadian and European sites.
I’m not sure I’d agree on quality but I agree it’s not the same overall. When people comment on my Walmart hauls that they can’t understand how I can shop there, I try to explain that the quality and options at Walmart are often better than what I can find at the higher priced retailers (like Nordstrom)!

I’m so glad that you said that Nordstrom is moving to online shopping. I went into one at The Woodlands Mall, when I visited my son a few months ago and there was hardly anything there.

Marnie you would be beautiful at any size! You and I are a very similar shape but I am only 5 feet tall. Hate wearing shorts or short skirts, always wanting to be a little thinner than I currently am. But you try things on and look lovely, so it inspires me to give it a whirl and stop thinking I can only look good/dress well when I am at my thinnest. Thanks keep up the great videos!
I am 5 feet too. It is so hard to find shorts and skirts! I found shorts that are more full like an a-line work well. Aline skirts tend to work better. A-line tends to slim my legs. Also keeping in the same color family for a top and bottoms with nude color shoe helps. Kudos to Marnie for coming out of her comfort zone!

Greetings from Vegas. So 2 thoughts: Nordstrom here used to have a pianist playing a grand piano, btw the shoe and cosmetic dept. He’s gone, and so is 80% of the merchandise. So sad. Since I like you so much and appreciate how helpful your content has been for me, I want to share with you that I don’t think it’s the mirror that’s causing what you don’t like in photos, it’s your posture and that’s an easy fix 😊. I say this with nothing but love, as a very posture-aware person. Google posterior pelvic tilt. You appear to tilt your pelvis forward. You’ll like the look much better once you correct it.

Yes, I noticed women asking where was the formal dresses? Very little in store. Interesting, post pandemic, when weddings were proliferating again.
I like 3, 5, and 6 for the clothing, don't care for the cut of the other items, and if it's 90 degrees already...you may not get a lot of use out of the jacket. Many of the shoes are similar to things that have been popular for awhile, but I do like 9, pretty and a bit unique.

@@MsGoldgirl Yes, online shopping ceased Thursday evening. Thankfully I was able to place an order. Brick and mortar stores will close in June. Hopefully we will be able to shop through Borderfree. That’s how it used to be before Nordstrom opened here in 2014.
It costs a lot to ship goods into Canada. It’s also hard to compete with established retail brands that are based in Canada. I’m sure other costs are higher too. If it’s not profitable, doesn’t make sense to keep putting money into it. Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond also couldn’t succeed in Canada. I’m not educated enough on the differences between our two countries as far as the retail sector goes but I wonder if there is something about the Canadian market that is not as welcoming to retailers. Whatever the reason, it’s still very sad.
I love the Caslon linen joggers also. I need to try out those joggers from Banana Republic. I would love to see your shoe haul.

I am trying to improve my arms, but long way to go - today I even tried on a couple of blouses at Ann Taylor loft, pretty fabric, spring colors, but that same kind of arm sleeve length - no bueno. 😉 what I did order , some thing you had profiled I think last week was from Chicos, a really cute T-shirt with puffed sleeves that come mid arm length and it happened to be on sale for $29. Have you found a pair of linen joggers/pants that are more wrinkle resistant than most? I love my Caslon joggers but don’t reach for them as much because I hate steam/ironing.

I love some of the choices that you showed. Wide leg linen pants are in my bag and a top that you have on your wishlist. I love the 3/4 length sleeve. So thank you for showing some with that length. I'm with you on the shorts, l love the shorter ones but I'm getting to where I won't wear shorts any more. I like most of the pants you showed but I don't care for the bulky (or any) front ties at the waist. I have a small frame but tummy is getting too bulgy. 'Things' happen when you're 72! ☹ Don't forget that Nordstrom has alterations.

My husband asked me why retailers allow me to return so frequently. Because the inventory is not there!
I've wondered about actual retail stores, there isn't a Nordstrom in Fort Worth anymore, at all, I have to drive to Dallas, that's not gonna happen often, so I order everything online. There's Nordstrom Racks, not even the same, I feel like Malls are fading out all together, unless it's more of an outdoor mall.
Malls are definitely not a good investment anymore. The overhead is so high and with e-commerce growing at an exponential rate, the only way to stay profitable is to adapt.

I tried the Vuori joggers and didn’t like. They felt like elevated under garment pants. The fit wasn’t right for me.
The feel of them is amazing but the fit was definitely off for me.
