    Nice to see and hear Maureen talk - she's still sounds sweet, even after her bouts with depression, drugs, and the horrible things her predicessors went through. I wish her the best with her endeavours.

    It's really hard not to like her. She's genuine, open, and very sincere. I'm glad she met someone who would love her for who she is and support her through her depression. She is very brave to speak openly like this. I wish I could give her her childhood back… But she seems like she's adjusted quite well. I'm glad I saw this interview.

      The media didn't portray her. She wrote a book about being a coke whore and banging all of Hollywood.

      @bradfordmcglone1984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @doso don Sorry for the words came off wrong way my intentions were not to put down Maureen McCormick. The media and stories were people who were saying bad things about. When I said she was genuine when I met her that was and is my perception of Maureen McCormick it is good and to this day I have good thoughts of her nothing bad. I did not want to buy into the negative of the media, otherwise I would not have gone out of my way to wanted to meet her and had a very nice chat and got her autograph. By the way I'm doing well in my life. And I hope you are too. Myself and none of us are perfect.

    • @bradfordmcglone1984
      @bradfordmcglone1984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @doso don Oh she was very nice. And felt that genuine feeling. It was during this country album she was promoting at the then Virgin Record store at a Sacramento location and Maureen had her daughter Natalie with her but, was not directly at the table when Maureen spoke at signing autographs and talking to each of us, it was a pleasure to have met Maureen. But, I did ask Maureen McCormick what was it like working with Jan? Lol. She laughed too but, I did like the whole cast of course. That question had something to do with Jan replying Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. She knew what I meant. Lol.

    Hey I give her a lot of credit and admiration for sharing what she had to go through....
    When the lights go up, the curtain goes down, and the final show is run, the actors and actresses we love are just like us and eat, sleep, pee, cry, and sweat like the rest of us....
    I also understand Maureen was ragged on by several jerks in High School like I was....

    Maureeen is just one example, as a person, as to why we really love THE BRADY BUNCH in real life - the actors and actresses themselves, and the characters (and the stories, and the house) - and this interview demonstrates that: "we" were "them" and they were "us" and we lived our lives thru them - for better and worse - we wanted to "be" ... (besides Elvis) ... (this is a big responsibility - and they didn't always appreciate that of course, none the less) we wanted to 'be' Bobby, Cindy, Marcia - all of them! (And, we were them - they were us);
    The Brady Bunch crew earned our respect by being very real over the years; my other peer-stars were from 'Family Affair' and for all of the better and worse part, these child stars are very much "us"; some of the outcomes are heart-breaking, but we can still connect to them as humans - this was 'reality TV' before the term even existed; Thank You Brady Bunch! We love you guys!

    I am reading her book right now and feel sorry for her in one way, the way her family heaped so much baggage on her so early in life, it put her in a hard place. She sparkles in this interview and wish the best for her. But I have to admit that I also aspired to be as perfect as Marcia, although I was more like Eve Plumb. Good luck, Maureen.

    Steven Spielberg stated that he wanted Maureen to play Marion Ravenwood in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
    She showed up to audition but she couldn't memorize lines, had a lot of trouble with the role, and didn't get the part.
    Her addictions did her in. She was too spaced out from whatever drugs she was taking.
    Imagine if she hadn't been, and gotten the job.

      One thing she overlooks is that for Marcia to exist beyond words in a script #, she had to add something of herself into the mix when playing the role. A different actress would have resulted in a noticeably different Marcia. So while she has her faults, everything Marcia has is from her.

    I listened to the audiobook version of her story and the big deal was that the syphilis was being passed down the family line. Maureen's grandmother contracted it from her Grandfather after getting it in WWI. Later, Maureen's mother found out she contracted it through her mother by birth. Maureen was scared she may have contracted it from her mom and that she would go crazy in the head the way her mom and grandmom did for they were put in institutions for it.

      Maindrian Pace exactly it's certainly not easy growing up in the public eye !! and to somehow maintain that clean-cut ridiculously saccharine approach to happiness the show played off of ; yes she's human and I'm glad she's recovered I've known a few people who've succumbed to addiction and it can be a lifelong struggle but there's always hope !!

      She used to roll around in nappies and get spanked in the weeks when she didn't have the cash for the drugs

    I feel in love as a young boy! Perfect! But of course we are all quite human. Sounds like an average 70’s childhood,......still very personable,...her influence on young girls can’t be overstated....good role model. Wish her all the best!

    I always loved Maureen. Eve Plumb, who played Jan, is just not a very nice person and she has to loosen up. I remember watching Eve on one of the daytime talk shows years ago and she was brought on the show with other 70's child actors. Someone in the audience asked her to say "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" And she refused even with the host coaxing her to do it as well. She just isn't a good sport and ironically mimics how she was also the outsider on many of the episodes of the Brady Bunch. To me, Marcia was the darling of the era. Such a beautiful woman.

      If I were Jan(Eve) I would not have succumbed to that nonsense.

      Well yes, you are correct on how she feels, but again I feel she should be grateful for her former success and the fact that many consider part of a media icon that has lasted for generations. Again, she knew why she was going on that talk show. She knew she was there to discuss her past. If she was in a current film or on a current sitcom and they were discussing that, then I would agree. But let's be real and put this in context. She was invited as they wanted to hear her talk about old times being on The Brady Bunch. She could have easily said no and simply avoided that situation altogether. She is no longer a huge star where a billion people are coming up asking for her autograph. Let's be honest, many young people today don't even know what The Brady Bunch is let alone would recognize her out in public. Everyone is different, but if I was her I would embrace my accomplishment and the fans that adored her for all these years. Ito been well documented that she doesn't like to discuss The Brady Bunch. Unlike her peers that often take advantage of traveling all over the United States to be a part of conventions etc., she has chosen to not be a part of that and that is completely her right. I'm just saying it really comes across as bitter and clearly the experience she had being on this iconic series was a good one as she doesn't want to embrace it at all. Again, she can do anything she wants but don't agree to go on a show like this when you know they aren't focusing on "please tell us Eve all about your current projects and we are not going to bring up The Brady Bunch at all." If you watch the full episode, she actually comes across as very short and abrasive. So why go on the show? It was her own fault for agreeing to be on the show and generally speaking most people do their research on who else will be there so I am sure she knew what other guests would be there on stage as well.
