  • You don't always need two different cameras for photos and videos nowadays. Is there a tripod that can do both?

    I just got this videohead a couple of months ago and so far as an amateur photographer I really like it basically for 3 reasons, the price, the quality and it's very small and compact for what it does.

    That is a very versatile head design. And the total price ain't bad either.

    Can you purchase just the fluid drag mount separately? I have another Manfrotto

    Thank you for not putting a link to the Amazon human rights abuse corporation. Really this is one of the best reviews, clear, concise.

    one downside I notice is there is no rapid leveling base for horizontal video panning

    Is there one like this but taller? Less than 160 cms is not very good... :/

    I have a dumb question. I have this tripod but mine has a ball head with no levers. I find it tricky to line up zoom shots (such as moon photopraphy) precisely. I assume I can swap the head for the MH01HY-3W, which I think is the three-way head you demonstrate in the video. I assume I can because my tripod is the Beefree Advanced Travel Tripod. Do I understand correctly?

    Looks like the head will be fine for video, but for photography I don't thing so. When you change from landscaping to portrait the best tool on a head tripod is a head ball Sphere to help you move on any direction.

    The tripod itself seems pretty standard fare, but the ball head looks like a great all-around. I'd love to just get the head, put it on my existing lightweight body, and use it for traveling where I want to be able to do anything without having to carry every piece of gear I own. Sadly, it's currently out of stock on the Manfrotto site... and it costs almost as much as the entire tripod (which kind of tells you they know the body isn't much to get excited about).

      After some searching, B&H has it, and Amazon (although the first Amazon search I ran didn't turn up anything for just the head)

    Very jerky starts & ends of the pans/tilts.

    This is probably a great tripod. I have 2 Be frees, the Original version for photos but I found it too heavy for travelling and wished I could have bought the carbon version & the Be Free Live which I bought in carbon. That is near perfect.The only thing it can not do is take photos on Portrait because it is a video tripod but very light. I have learned from not getting a carbon version the first time around. A tripod thats suppose for travelling and stays home due to weight considerations is a useless tripod. Im sure this one solves the portrait problem of Be Free Live since it is three way. Right now since my Be free live cannot take portraits, I ended up buying an ultralight Benro carbon tripod to solve the portrait problem. So i ended up with 2 tripods, and another 1 that is gathering dust.

    You can stabilize in post your lean/dolly shots even if you shoot them from tripod. Difference is noticeable.
    Also your light looks a bit too alone. I'd add another light for contour and also to eliminate "I'm in haunted house" feel.

    The befree range is confusing. I'd rather have a 502ah head with befree carbon legs than this combo.

    • @itsdannyftw
      @itsdannyftw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can you explain why the 502ah is better suited? Is it because it's a fluid video head versus the fixed 3-way here? What about the Befree Live Video Head? Or is that video head inferior to the 502ah? Thanks!
