For anyone interested, there is one of these for sale on eBay right now. £300. Alternatively, the front plaque is available from Rubbertoe Replicas for roughly £30 if you want a DIY version.
For the real prop all they had was the biblical text. Which is still wonderfully beautiful but it's nice to have some stuff to show the kids at conventions.
Boy I wish I had this. I have always loved the concept of the Time War so I would just love to read this. Its just a shame that good old Steven Moffat retconed it so that the Doctor didn't kill the Time Lords.
Thank goodness that they kept the Biblical text as taking it out and keeping it blank would be disrespectful to the hard work of people who continue the tradition of that style of book printing and well as a Christian and reader of all literature, it would hurt me to see if they did gut that out. Plus in my opinion, it shows to me how incredibly important these text are. One records fictional accounts of a war to save the future of the universe and the other has a basis in our reality (whether hard truth or symbolic truth or a bit stretched) with the focus of saving humanity's soul. I would love to own this prop.
Did you pay attention to what he said? He is talking about the historical part of the preservation of the original book, it would be like destroying a 19th century copy of Capital form Karl Marx, it isn't because I don't like communism that I think such an important piece of history has to be destroyed.
CapZone lol, you definitely don't get my point. I said that as a Christian and as a lover of all kinds of literature, I appreciate that this 19th century bible copy wasn't destroyed. You and the 3 other jerks who gave you a thumbs up can't see beyond Christian to get my point. Heck, even voteforsaxon07 appreciated that the religious text wasn't ripped out and left in with great respect. I even pointed out how with the Time War material, it adds a strange faux and reality style and feeling to see the book. The Biblical text adds more spirit to the idea that this is an important book in the TARDIS' library. I would say the same if it was any other book, but yes because it is the Bible, it hits home deeper.
tvps2blogspotcom Thank you for understanding. Exactly what I was trying to make, heck and if it was something you actually liked, it'd be even more special to you, but nooooooo, apparently having that makes me a religious nut.

I like how all headings / subsections have "edit."
I wish BBC themselves would make replicas of stuff like this. People would certainly buy it.
Everything made by the BBC for the most part is shite.
Sou1Creeper you have

These... these were the glory days
Such as shame that all that effort went into this prop replica, yet they neglected to remove the 'edit' bits in the text.
Things happen. Many don't see it as they are too focused on the artwork and pages.
Actually, it turns out Time Lord books are written just like Wikipedia. Anyone can edit their own copy with psychic links to the text. Nifty, eh?
