This man in my humble opinion, is to be considered in the company of the great inventors of all time! ALL work on the watches by his hand ,and his hand alone,is really almost unbelievable!!!
"I felt I ought to beat it and so I worked very hard at this and I'm no good at mathematics" Haha says one of the greatest watchmakers of all time. I wonderful man and horologist.
One of the earliest watch's is 1530. Roundabout, he's not far of.The concept of such a device has been around since the greeks and the earliest concepts of mechanics. It's also rumoured the very name/term "watch" came from 17th century sailors timekeeping whilst on watch.
It's funny, the Teddy Beyer story told by René Beyer in his interview with Swiss Watch Gang is almost the opposite of how Daniels tells it here. I wonder which version is closer to reality?
"This was the first major mechanical improvement in watch design for 500 years. " is in the description. Completely wrong, 150 years is arguable, but 500 years ago watches didn't even exist as a concept. Never the less, a great acheivement
I always thought his watches look so other worldly. Like they were made by aliens a billion years ago and somehow found their way to earth. Maybe it was a space travellers watch but earth was the final destination 🤷♂️
I could listen to this man tell stories for a very long time. He was a brilliant man and I'm sad knowing that I can never meet him.

Incredible to hear this master craftsman talk about his work. More, please!
How many people know who he is yet he's one of the greatest men this country have had. Along side Brunel and Hawking

Imagine how it would be to own a Daniels watch, or, rather, to be the custodian of such a masterpiece for the duration of one's life.

George once told R2D2 he was a feisty little one, but he'd soon learn respect on the masters sail barge
