(synopsis)
„Maria, my daughter“ is music video (short film) for the Serbian folk - spiritual song.
Mary is young modern and naughty Gypsy girl. The lives with her grandfather, who makes for a living by playing accordion on the street while his granddaughter.
She can’t get a long with her way of life, which is oriented on begging for money and collection of trash on manure, so she living alternative life.
By the night she is leaving on the perifery of the city hanging out with a local prostitutes. The spending her earnend money on roultte and expecting quickiy and enormious income. She pecomes succesful in that!
Big with amount of money she is going on parties and she is falling in vice. By lossing control over her self she attemps a suicide.
After that coming redemption and going back to the grandfather and her roots.
Grandpa taking his granddaughter on a strange journey, looking like pilgrimage, so he can learn his in mature granddaughter the essence of life and love.
The film is followed by quotes from the Gospel of Matthew and symbolism of the main character of the movie "Nostalgia" (Andrey Tarkovsky).
