if you listen to this playing of the fugue, compared to how Durufle himself played it, you realize composers are not always the best interpreters of their works. This interpretation is so much clearer because of the tempo and more expressive because of the rubato. Nicely done.
A very beautiful piece of music and an adequate rendition! Honestly: I really like this reproduction in the living room, where everything is wonderfully clear to hear. Somehow even better than an organ concert in a church room! Perhaps an unusual view, but I stand by it.
Thank you. The sound experience is (as it’s based on the recorded sound of the real organ) is rather comparable to a CD recording, than a real concert feeling. As a concert audience, people can hear only the sound in their particular position, but this sample set were recorded from several positions in the church, and in the software the volume of the positions are adjustable. So you can have the feeling that the sound is close and clear, but also soft. Listening to a real organ in a church is the best, but with these technical miracles recordings can be also enjoyable!
Thanks for your answer! I don't like most church interiors, especially if they're old, big, and twisted, making them more or less spooky. Moreover, it is often cold and uncomfortable in them. It would be bad for me, as an organ player, to be alone high up in a gallery in such an environment. It's really better in the living room!
Breathtaking performance of this soulful remembrance by Durufle. A worthy tribute to Alain and his friend, Alain.
Thank you
To say it again here: It is wonderful when you carry such a piece so well in you that you can recite it by heart. That has my full admiration!
Thank you!

Thank you so much!
I very much like the slower tempo of the fugue. Very nice, clean and emotionally played.
Thank you for your kind words.
One of the most interesting and moving peaces of organ music. Very well played, especially the fugue. The summit is 14:26
Thank you!
Magnificent, made my morning
Thank you!

Thanks
Gratulálok!
The organ I'm playing on unfortunately only goes up to the highest G instead of A so I can't play one bar of the fugue :-(
Well yes, Duruflé needs a lot of merchandise :)
Ejha!
Who is the builder of this hauptwerk organ?😃
Mixtuur
