Changing Perceptions of Women's Roles in Yemen

  • To mark this year's International Women’s Day, we asked women around the world who are leaders and changemakers for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to share their stories. Khadija Al-Haj is a human resources assistant at MSF’s project in Abs, Yemen. As part of a conservative community, she initially faced social restrictions that made doing her job difficult. “What was helpful for me was my family support because they gave me their trust,” she said. She now sees herself as part of a movement that has helped change the community’s perspective on the roles women can play in society. Read more at bit.ly/3vFzv9v
