Great job on the thin metal! I've been welding for over 45yrs. Have found that on thin materials, I like to weld the end first. Let cool, then weld the piece. Heat always builds up towards the end of the weld and helps from blow outs. But you had the machine set right so you could instantly lower the amps on the end! Perfect job and the testing before hand was great work. We use to use 1/4" x 3 or 4" copper strips to build up mole boards. Using 7018 1/8" when an operator wasn't paying attention and wore into the mole board. Thank you for the video!

With an acetylene torch, Lincoln Tombstone, and wire feed in my garage I figure I have enough to be dangerous. Yet what I learned in shop decades ago just isn't cutting it. To weld 1/4 inch steel I didn't have to change the settings on the tombstone or decide what rods to use because it was already set up for me to go play. I couldn't help but do a great job after being shown once. Now I have all the time to learn for the sake of a hobby or to help people out and have fun.
After this video I think I grew another brain cell and it didn't hurt me a bit. that copper backing trick was golden. Ty🤯👍

This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20.
Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

People don’t understand how difficult welding is (to the average person). While I was getting my BSE degree in ME I had to take several materials classes and obviously along with this came the question of how repairs of those materials come about so I had to take numerous shop classes welding. The amount of frustration I had in those classes specifically with thinner metals was unbelievable.
I was very impressed with your video. Prep, explanation, and process were all incredible. Keep up the good work, I’m glad people like yourself are around to complete these processes I couldn’t 😂😂

      @@flashfyre Both.
The imperial system has two major flaws. The first is the division by more or less randomized fractions, which makes no sense and which is why even in the imperial system people who measure a lot use 10th, 100th and 1000th, instead of 16/736.
The other flaw is the base units themselve. The yard is a random distance, that can never be recrated if it is lost. The meter on the other hand is crated from a given distance that hardly changes and that can be recreated to fractions of a percent at any time.
Same goes for temperature. While the Fahrenheit scale set its fix points again to two completely random points that cannot be recreated, the celsius scale uses two temperatures that can be recreated with a certain precision by any 5th grader.

Or, of course you can use a purpose build sheet metal gauge, to figure out that your sheet metal is 18 Gauge, what ever the hell that even means.
You just prove my point, thank you.
The only reason the unit "Gauge" exists is because the base system that you use is so flawed that you need to define gauges to define stuff. Its a stupid solution to a stupid problem created by a stupid system. At some point you might just change the stupid system and avoid all the other stupidity on top ;)
