- Here are all Akatsuki members versus all Kara members. For the members of the akatsuki I did not add Juzo or even Orochimaru because he did not really stay very long.
I include only the real members of the akatsuki who stayed the longest.

Comparing Kara's power to Akatsuki's power is funny. In fact, the sequel always tries to show more power than before. You know to attract attention. I'm not even surprised if naruto or sasuke can't beat them and even if naruto dies that's a common thing in sequels. But in terms of ideology, plot to theme, Akatsuki took more of my attention. I wish there was something that could draw my attention to boruto other than much greater power.

When compared to the Akatsuki, the Kara were certainly much stronger than them, but that's all they offered. In terms of character writing and depth, the Kara members could barely hold a candle to their Akatsuki counterparts. Much like the rest of Boruto, being overpowered enemies is what defined them the best as they failed terribly in other aspects as an organization. The lack of cohesion among the members didn't do them any favors either. While expectations for the Kara were certainly high, they ended up being far from the next Akatsuki.
As an organization on its own, perhaps the Kara did well enough to ensure Boruto stay interesting for a while. With the likes of Code still alive with members like Ada and Daemon, the organization might still have some future. In their own way, the Kara are a decent organization, perfect for a series that focuses on alien parasites and flashy powers. However, they're a far cry from the Akatsuki, who will always remain in a league of their own.

Although akatsuki is weaker, Kara never gave us such memorable fights and episodes, nor 100% not fangirling over characters. All the akatsuki members are so thought out with a complete character or backstory. Every member was completely unique, unlike Kara which I felt was another ‘meh’ villain org.

If Deidara uses his ultimate jutsu, Obito the Izanagi, Itachi the tsukuyomi, Konan the 600 billions paper bombs, pain the chibaku tensei, and all others their special attacks, they'll just blow up all of the Karas. Because it's impossible to absorb a rinnegan justsu like the chibaku tensei. Also don't forget that Itachi possesses shisuis eye, Obito can teleport himself and therefore use Izanagi and izanami as many times as he wants(he has a collection of sharingan)

I'll agree, Kara is stronger but the Akatsuki has the counters, Isshiki can't hit Obito because of his Mangekyou (2 Sharingans)... No matter how powerful it is, Obito will just go to the Kamui dimension.

for 3 days fighting in Itachi's genjutsu, Isshiki will feel tired/exhausted. Pain is underrated in my opinion, he can push and pull Isshiki and he can restore himself because of the devil's mouth (it's called the deva path I think). Hidan can kill Isshiki, because of his immortality technique, if you attack him, you will feel your own attack. Zetsu can be useful, he can multiply himself and be the reanimation of someone like 6 Paths Madara, Dead Itachi, 6 Paths Obito, etc. That's all for my opinion,
