Experimenting and learning is great, it lets us discover new things, however this is a wheel that has been invented. gnembon covered it well. While he hasn't uploaded in 3 years, many of his farms still work. Blaze, slime, iron, I have tested in the latest snapshot on Java and they work. Optimal timing is about 35 seconds IIRC. I saw a rather lengthy video on the spawn mechanics. removing the golems from the detection radius as quick as possible is key, usually they get dropped out of range. spawn onto a 20-25 block spawnable area platform and get water streamed off the edge to a killing/collection chamber. check out etho clocks you've basically reinvented that too.
I wouldn't say I've reinvented anything, more just over time I've learned more of the mechanics involved, and instead of just going to a tutorial or a world download, I'd do it myself. That's all this really was supposed to be - I had a space where an iron farm goes and I wanted to build the best 4 I could build myself with what I know about iron farm mechanics. I learned a lot more through this process than watching any video, just through my own discovery. I did realise I never actually mention once how many items are in the hopper clock..
Great vid
Thanks very much!
