What you say is partially applicable.
If people tell that they will work extra proactively than temporarily situation goes in their favor.
Than bosses take it for granted that this guy will work extra by default always.
The day the person starts working eight hours as before after the crisis is the day they are seen as partially working.
Also the video missed the dirty politics existing in jobs.
If a person who is really efficient as mentioned in video and is loyal to a particular boss than other bosses do not favour this person.
The day this person"s boss resigns or gets kicked out is the day either this person will be severely degraded or lose his job.
