Thank you Adreas. Hey, how have you all been handling the COVID? So far we are doing ok up here on the homestead but with me working in the hospital, COOTIE CENTRAL, I get exposure to it so much. I think I have immunity now. Most of our staff do. It seems like it's getting ugly again during this cold and flu season. Keeping fingers crossed it does not get worse. Have a great holiday season. BTW, I just purchased a chainsaw mill. You inspired me.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 We are doing fine over here. No one of us have had the covid. I have been working on a big project. Videos will come soon. I have been so busy this year, its bewn crazy. Its nice that we are getting close to christmas. It will be nice to just relax for a couple of weeks. Have a great one Jerry.
Sub became a classic especially young drivers. But the faulty engine collant overheating cost them$$$. And timeing belts. Ouch. Especially the 2.5...made pre 2002. Dealerships noticed when the first coolant changed air locked up inside head. Then those air bubbles at the lower water pump slowed the coolant flo. Many shops were unaware and just made it worse costing $$. After we spent 5000 ...i drilled a 1/4 hole in the thermostat that allowed the air bubbles to flo out. That cured the overheating for 2 years until the 2nd time belt broke. Dang dang. Junked it.
You are so correct on this. This engine has had the seals replaced prior to my purchase of the vehicle. After I got it I found another MAJOR flaw. The U-Joints on the drive line do not have grease fittings on them to keep them well lubricated. Guess what happened. They failed. A catostrophic failure. The U Joint busted, throwing the drive line bending it in the process and busting off the tail end of the transmission. OH $&!?. Not a happy camper. SO, I found a perfectly good used tranny but had to purchase a brand new drive line. Tranny cost $650.00, Driveline from dealer cost $745.00. Center carrier bearing busted and twisted. Mechanic (whom by the way is my neighbor and lives just across the street) charged me only $200.00 for labor. Found a Drive Line shop in Talent Oregon to modify the You Joints and will place grease fitting on for me BUT, this past summer the Almeda fire burnt his business to the ground as well as the rest of his town and the neighboring town. Moral of the story-----Don't buy Subaru----Just saying.
I once got pulled over because I had a tail light out. I showed the officer the bulb I had bought. He asked me why it wasn't in. I told him because I had a screwdriver with me and not a wrench. He chuckled something about it helps to have the right tool and let me go with no ticket.
Thanks Jerry! You are so good at showing how to do stuff.
Thank you for watching. I'm so pleased you found my channel. I try really hard to bring you great content.
Nice instructive video Jerry. Have an amazing evening, Andreas from Off Grid Sweden 🇸🇪

He was a very kind and understanding gentleman. My dad and uncle were police officers.
I am not mechanically inclined like you are :-(
I learn as I go when the need arises.
