Hello from Ukraine. Bob, thanks so much for this great lesson! When you were talking about secrets, phrases "secret marriage" and "the secret of success" came to my mind 😊
When you said about Oscar I remembered a story about talking dog, the punchline is that a man wanted to sell his dog which could speak pure English and told a lot of stories about how he was a secret agent and stuff like that for very cheap money. And when amazed people asked why the price is so low the owner answered that all those stories was just a lie !🐈😎🎧
This lessons reminded me the song's lines: Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save Better lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave. If I show you that I know you Won't tell what I said Cause two can keep a secret If one of them is dead

It is because he speaks clearly and slowly. Most of native English speakers speak faster and tend to pronounce words naturally shorter, maybe?
