Love lord of the Rings / The Hobbit. Tolkien was such a imaginative, creative, literature genius. Created the stories, speech and even created its own languages!! Then wrote an alphabet and songs using that language !!! He was so far ahead of his time and is truly one hellava author (even though his books aren’t for everyone). I love that Smaug bust by the way lol !!!
The detail in the sculpt of this Smaug statue is excellent. I really love the pose as well as the paint, he looks life like. Personally, I am not a collector of bust but I feel like this statue wall mounted is killer.

Agree with you that if it was a larger scale it would have been even better. Actually rewatching the Hobbit/LOTR trilogies right now before binging the Amazon series and its making me want to start collecting a LOTR line lol.
Yo do you ever consider reviewing movie collectors editions and limited edition video games. They arnt worth as much as statues but some they are dope af and the lord of the rings ones come with statues and expensive pieces. Collectors editions of games and movies are something ive been collecting for a while and because you get a mix of things like comics or statues or cards included i find its the funnest. I personally dont think much about resale value so i open some of them up to use
Loved the movie, I think it was better than the book(that I barely remember). The bust looks great. I think the broken horns look unintentionally broken(white plaster base for black spines?) which is a miss. Perhaps it needed some different colouring or jaggedness to convey damage. Maybe a bed of treasure could have been another option for the base but that's not necessarily an improvement or a negative.
Very impressive, but I wish they'd had a proper environmental base, such as Smaug emerging from a massive mound of gold coins. I really am tired of these dull black coaster bases.

I know it's intentional but the broken off bits look too much like broken polystone, they should have weathered those areas more

Weta quality is top notch but I think Prime 1 is pretty damn close and a much better price point in most cases.
