My current favourite. It feels really good to type on. Good value too.
Good choice!
watched this while putting on my HMX clouds i just received this morning and they're some of the greatest switches i've tried (i am new in the keyboard hobby though)
best switches at a great price so far i my experience.
Clouds are awesome, Xinhais are awesome. I’ve been in this hobby for 5 years and HMX switches are the best in the market imo atm.
@@BokehhBob Are these as loud as folks are saying? I'm really searching for the loudest clacky switch that I could find.
Nice vid Bob!!! ❤
Thanks!
Nice! Have you tried Gateron Baby Racoons? How would they compare?
I actually havent, I want to though.
if im going for a clack build like yours how would adding plate foam affect the sound? i would also be using a pom plate and abs keycaps like in this video
Any type of foam will take away your high pitch clack. So the more foam, the less clack. However, sometimes some boards may need just case foam or pcb foam to make the sound more full or cleaner. Generally speaking if you put all foam including pe foam you’ll get that marble thocky sound.
hey man just a request: maybe don't put the pop sound for your subscribe shout out during your type test. maybe put it during your talking or b roll shots
Thanks for the recommendation, i actually don’t do that anymore on my current videos!
hey! they sound amazing! could i enquire if they are long pole?
they are long pole!
sunset gleam or xinhai???...for louder crispy clack? im stuck between these two...still deciding on which banger i should get for the top clakiest HMX switch???
Get both!
is the factory lubing good or would you recommend manually lubing them aswell?
I think its fine but everyone differs on that opinion. Im lazy and not picky with the lube on my switches.
How would you compare them to the hmx cloud/cheese switches?
They’re very similar side by side. The Xinhai is slightly more full and a little louder. Very similar though. Both of them are S tier.
Have you tried the jammy switches?
I have not, however they are on the way to me. Probably have some sound tests up at the end of the month since I’m going on vacation.
Is there any hmx switch with bottom out force similar to xinhai BUT longer travel?
Ummm the 3.9mm travel sunset gleam will be out soon. The hyacinth v2U is also 3.9 travel
wow man i want to build keyboard to sound like that, i just feel that these switches will need so much force are there any switches with close enough sound and feel but lighter ?
You can spring swap any switch to your liking. But most of the hmx switches bottom out around 50g
@@BokehhBob
Thanks I will try that once they are in stock. Do you think the square stem switches are better ? Less wobble ?
@@MrFido7upthese switches are not being restocked.
Square stems are better for wobble for sure but i don’t really notice or care about that in my switches since it doesn’t really effect your typing
Wanna see what the hype is about. I just got HMX Lotus today from Unikeys. It was definitely worth the wait. I didn't realize that I would genuinely appreciate a clacky sound profile. What do you think is the clackiest/loudes HMX? I also got the Canglans, Machiattos, and Xinhais but just pack of 10 each just to try. I got 90 pcs Lotus because of the artisan packaging lol
Xinhai, cheese, Sunset Gleams and Macciatos are the loudest/clackiest. Blue topaz and jammy are up there yoo
@@BokehhBob I shoulda copped more Xinhai I only got a pack of 10 I don't know what I was thinking. But that would be definitely next and the Sunset gleam (because of the artisan packaging). I just can't stand the loooooong wait!!!! I want 'em all right now lol
@@DadTech1981 hahaha good thing theyre very affordable!
nice, my batch should be landing today
I need to buy more. According to unikeys HMX is no longer making them.
@@BokehhBob swagkeys .28 cents
cost more to ship them than it does to buy them LOL
@@BokehhBob shipping for me wasnt bad, $10 usd on 180 switches
must be a canada thing@@shylocutus
i honestly cant tell the difference between these and the jammy apart from jammy being a bit heavier which i sometimes like.
I’ll have to go back and double check side by side. I also like the jammy.
@@BokehhBob could be my foamless and pom config. Perhaps the difference will be more pronounced in other configs
@@jiwany could be, could also be the board. Could be a lot of stuff tbh. I like Jammies though, i think they’re a sleeper hmx.
@@BokehhBob I have cheese and duckduck on order. Tried them?
About to get the hyacinth v2 switches … any thoughts?
Great switch! I have them in one of my boards.
@@BokehhBob also have the choice to go for bsun anya and bcp switches... Should i go for the hyacinths? Liked then quite a lot in the reviews :3
@@MonkeyDLuffy-pk3xq they’re all great but if you want that high pitch clack go with the hyacinth or BSUN BCP.
@@BokehhBob then hyacinths it is... they are affordable...rest are overpriced here :') bcps cost 2x of hyacinths
@@BokehhBob thanks a lot for your time & suggestions man... keep up the great work!
What would be like this , but thocky instead of clacky ?
The deepest HMX is the canglan v2.
@@BokehhBob Ty :-) How would you rate them against Morandis ?
morandis are deeper. the canglan still kinda clack. None of the HMX switches are really super deep, just some deeper than others. Now if youre using a foam board it doesnt matter. @@AO-yo1ke
@Bob Ty man :-) , and ty for a good review !
I wonder how the Hmx Xinhais compare to Zaku? Which one do you prefer, sound wise?
I personally prefer Xinhai by far. The Zaku’s sound deep compared to the Xinhai. Xinhai is higher pitched clackier and just as full.
@BokehhBob OH alright, thanks! I'm really against deep switches so I'd probably get the Xinhai for my Qk80, they're much more budget friendly too
which is louder? -- this or Paradise Islands?
These for sure.
i havent even tried the xinhai but im having v2u and macchiato on my hand, surprisingly owlab neons dont come even close to these LOL
@@ntqa8872crazy right?
how does it compare to HMX hyacinth v2u? which do you prefer and why?
I haven’t tried the v2U, I’ve tried the v2. They’re very similar and i think the Xinhai is slightly more full sounding.
