- NZ supergroup L.A.B. recently released their third album L.A.B. III. We were lucky enough to record a special live session with them at Auckland's Roundhead Studios, where they performed this stonking version of the album's closing track 'Heat'.

In the first part of this song I see my whanaunga (Maori Battalion) via his letters home thinking he was going on an adventure but after many months he realised it was not. He just wanted to go home but sadly never made it . At the end of the song I picture a two-storey church (bell tower) in a dusty run down town ravaged by war. I can see him walking up the street bedraggled and struggling. Jeez I have to stop and calm myself down. What a great job you made of this LAB.
L.A.B must be New Zealand’s most underrated band. They sound soo good live. They deserve way more air time than what the NZ music industry is currently giving them

Killer song. The main riff reminds me of Judas Priest complete with the Rob Halford scream thrown in there.
I also hear some Rainbow/Dio type ambient style guitar work at the end.
Great band saw them last weekend for the first time in Hamilton and it was a mindblowing show. They played this song in the set and never heard it before and instantly loved. As soon as I got home I downloaded it on Spotify.
